market. These projects help in diversifying various operations and functions in an organization.
The development of project management has been parallel with the development of an
organization.
This report deals with the development of a product launch of Samsung Galaxy S8. The
report focuses on objectives of the project including scope, time and cost. The deliverables for
the project has been provided in the report. Milestones and technical requirements of a project
are explained in the report.
This report outlines issues and limitations in new product launch of a company. The
report deals with reviews and feedbacks of customers regarding the new product after launching.
Product Launch
Launching is a process by which a company introduces new products in the market. The
purpose is to maximize sales of a new product in the market that helps in the development of a
company. The launching process is an important criterion that is followed by an organization for
maintaining projects (Heldman 2015). The launch process of a new company explains new
strategies of the company in the market. The planning for product launch starts with the business
documentation along with target customers and definition. The strategic decisions related to
launching depends on targeted customers in the market the demand in the market regarding that
new product plays an important role in the success of a product. The company have to maintain a
strategic process for initializing new product launch. In this context, Samsung is going to launch
a new mobile named Samsung Galaxy S8.

Project Objective
The objective of this project is to manage a one-day new product launch of Samsung
Galaxy S8. The management of this event has been a prior role for this project. The scope of this
project is to maintain a positive relationship with customers with respect to the new product.
Deliverables
The project team of Samsung has announced a one-day event for launching their new
product, Samsung Galaxy S8. The sponsor group and team members of Samsung have decided to
state features of a new phone. Various VIP guests are also invited to this event. The team have
arranged drinks and snacks for the entertainment of guests (Burke 2013). They have planned for
a sound system and refreshment programs by various artists. The project manager, team leader
and their members have actively taken part in an event and provided helping hands for successful
mobile launch program.
Milestones
The milestone of this project is to complete a one-day launch program by Samsung
successfully. Samsung wants to attract many customers with the help of this one-day launch
event. The productivity and market share of the company will enhance at its maximum level.
Besides this, Samsung can gain a lot of customer base and immense popularity (Crawford 2014).
However, Samsung Galaxy S7 has failed in the market; therefore, their primary goal is to
overcome that loss with brand new Samsung Galaxy S8.
Technical requirements
The new product of the company, Samsung Galaxy S8 needs to be in working condition
from of huge audience. The technical department of the company needs to be active for narrating

features of the phone by making it attractive. The projector and sound system needs to be
working properly. A proper presentation needs to be delivered by the technical team members to
attract customers towards their new product.
Limits and Exclusions
Various limitations are accomplished with this one-day event of new product launch. The
launch event has to be organized in one of the luxurious hotels of Singapore (Mir and Pinnington
2014). A huge number of Singapore citizens will be gathered at this event and managing them
properly will be the great task to be performed by Samsung. Therefore, a proper event
management strategy is required for organizing this event.
Review/Approval
Samsung is looking for a successful launch of their new mobile Galaxy S8. Various
innovative features have been integrated with new mobile that will be able to remove problems
related to the previous model of Samsung. The previous model has been a failure in the market.
Samsung is going to arrange a LED screen to launch and display the program outside the hotel.
This might attract the customers who are not resent in the event. Samsung can invite media for
capturing their live video and programs. This might help in reaching a large number of people
worldwide.
Quality of Event
The event will be organized at MBS Hotel and MBS Hotel in Singapore. These two
hotels are one of the luxurious hotels in Singapore. Various VIP guests will attend this event and
provide speeches on the phone. This will help in attracting customers to the phone. Expert
professionals and educated personalities will provide their feedback to the project team regarding

new mobile (Kerzner 2017). The new of this event will be reported and published in various
newspaper and television channels that will help in advertising this event to a maximum number
of people. The quality of the event is high and a critical point for Samsung point of view.
Scope
A one-day launch event has been planned by Samsung for launching a new mobile
Galaxy S8 in the market. The scope of the event will help in identifying resources that will be
required for this event. The cost estimation techniques might help in monitoring and estimate
budget for the event. The cost required for managing every aspect of an event would be included
in the cost estimation techniques.
Time
The project plan would take two-month time for preparing every aspect of planning.
However, the event is only for one-day engagement.
Cost
The budget and cost estimation for this event might help Samsung to estimate their
amount that will be spent in this one-day event along with overall project (Turner 2016). The
budget estimation of the project helps in making decisions during spending money in the event.
Project priority matrix
Project Management is Trade-off between Performance, Time and Cost. The Project
matrix is generally beneficial to know the criteria that are constrained, the criteria that must be
embellished and that must be accepted.

The parameter of the project has been already fixed. The project has to be completed
within its deadline. However, a project must fulfil the specification, scope and budget included in
this project.
Enhance
As per the scope of this project, it is analyzed on what criterion must be conducted in an
efficient manner.
Accept
It deals with for which criterion original parameter can be met can only be answered by
accepting. When the trade-off is planned to be made, the scope of the project can be reduced, the
performance of the project can be reduced and the schedule can be slipped, now it should be
allowed or not can be answered by accepting (Flyvbjerg 2014).

This project have used this matrix table for prioritizing various deliverables for success of
the event. The use of the priority matrix have helped in maintaining these elements in the WBS.
The bottom up approach have helped in expanding the elements from bottom. Priority matrix is a
tool that helps in providing the various set of tasks and activities according to its importance. The
matrix helps in ranking various project activities based on different criteria. It helps in providing
clear and simple understanding project priorities (Heldman 2015). It helps in the decision-
making process related to project. Priority Matrix provides a general approach towards
completion of a project within a deadline. The mapping of activities can be done with the help of
analyzing priorities of activities and sub-activities of a project. Priority Matrix is a tool used
during brainstorming for evaluating different issues linking to the prioritized list of items.
Therefore, this helps in determining an order of problems need to be solved first in order for
fulfilling organizational objectives.
The red color denotes the high priority, the yellow focuses on medium priority and the
green color denotes the low priority that is related to the launch of Samsung Galaxy S8.
Work Breakdown Structure
The work break down structure is a project deliverable that helps in maintaining tasks
include in the project that is divided into manageable solution. It defines various scopes of the
project in order to understand various features and parameters of the project. The use of WBS
provides an outline of the project activities and tasks (Kerzner 2017). It is developed by
predicting project deliverables and it is subdivided into small tasks and activities. The sub
deliverables ate then divided into deliverables of the project. The costs included in WBS helps in

Cost Estimation
Cost Estimation is a process that helps in highlighting resources of project and budget
associated with resources. Cost estimation technique helps in identifying feasibility related to the
financial condition. However, techniques of cost estimation avoid cost overruns. Samsung has

2014). The analysis of resources of the project has maintained a proper technique to finish the
project within a deadline. The cost estimation method in this part have helped in maintaining the

hart with their cost estimating the budget. This project have been started with roper amount of
budget and maintained during process. The use of the cost estimation method have helped in
fulfilling budget and expectation of the project required for its completion. The completion of the

Top-down approach
Top-down approach refers to breaking down of deliverables of a project into various sub-
task. These small activities are termed as work packages. Benefits of using this approach are that
every activity can be identified independently.
Bottom-up approach
The bottom-up approach deals with completing overall tasks by members of a project
team that are identified first. However, this approach is a time-consuming process. The tasks and
activities included in this approach are grouped together for developing work packages. This
project has used a bottom-up approach. The bottom-up approach takes time for analyzing
activities and elements present in the project. This project has used bottom up approach for
looking forward in the completion of the project within the deadline of the project. Therefore, the
bottom up approach is perfect for being used in this research.
