leading players offering products across all price levels and in every major region around the
world. The company was founded by Lee Byung-Chull in 1983. The company took its first step
in telecommunication sector back in 1988, when they developed their first handset SH-100. The
company started its global influence in 1996. The company took its time to get them settled in
the global telecommunications sector. The latest offering from them is the galaxy s8, which is
now their flagship product with having various top notch features (Teimouri et al. p. 1).
Their last flagship device note 7 has gathered negative reviews regarding the poor
performance of the battery. Thus, with the introduction of the galaxy s8, they are also trying to
regain the lost goodwill in the market along with maintaining the existing market share. With the
features they are offering with galaxy s8, Samsung is giving tough competition to the other
vendors such as HTC, Apple and various Chinese vendors.
