Introduction
Sustainability is an increasingly adopting and concern issue for many organisations and
sustainability management practices and strategies are adopting by team leaders and manager in
their business for accomplishing the organisation goals. This approach has all the implications
for processes and decisions associated with all the parts of operations management including
design, planning, strategy, control, and improvement. The selected company is “Samsung”, this
organisation was establish by Sir Lee Byung-chul. After that, this company was diversified into
areas which include textiles, insurance, securities, and retail. Samsung switches to electronic
business in the late 1960s. Samsung is now the world's largest notable industry and acquires
consumer electronic market. Quality standards, supply chain, Information and communication
technologies of Samsung will be done in this assignment. Analysis using Performance measures-
QSDFC, servicescape, and quality audit will be done.

The quality standard is the outline of specification, guidelines, requirements and characteristics
that products, services and processes should be connected with each other in order to make the
product well efficient. The quality standard is also the framework which helps in making the
product fit for purpose and meets the needs of their end users. When businesses and the
organisations are committed to quality standards then they are able to expect:
 Reduction in losses or cost for overall business.
 Increase profit curves.
 Increasing consumer loyalty which enhances the brand reputation.
 Helps in gain market share.
 Improves competitiveness.
Supply chain management is classified as the wide area of tasks required to make plan,
execute and maintain the services and product’s flow. It involves process from converting
raw material to the finished goods and that good sold to the end buyer (Mir and
Pinnington, 2014).
Importance of Supply chain management:
Minimum cost – Organisations usually prefer methods that are cost effective so it can
help them in avoiding the expensive inventory maintenance cost (Van, et. al., 2015).
Timely delivery – Products reached to the end customer very safely. All the products are
completely covered in the air tight plastic bags and containers. Supply chain management
that buyer receive their product as they expected.
Decrease production cost – Supply chain delivers materials to assembly plants and avoid
any costs that may occur due to delays.
Services- This is the point when the real image of organisation is made in the customer
eyes. Giving rapid and great after sales services is very important, as customer is
completely depend on the organisation, if he faces any challenges in the product.

ICT – Information and communications technology
Information and communication technologies are infrastructures that enables modern
computing. This term means application and systems that allow the companies, non-
profit agencies to connect with the technological world. ICT has transformed the way of
people, it changed their way of communication, live and learn. ICT also changes all
human experience from the beginning of first computer to this time and now artificial
intelligence perform most of the coding work which help people in saving precious time.
For example, nowadays artificial intelligence answer the calls, but they can often more
quickly and efficiently handle caller’s request for services (Francis, et. al., 2013).

Performance measurement refers to collecting, interpreting, and reporting effective information
related to the power performance of an organisation, individual, system or component.
Performance measurement tools are very crucial as these are the indicators for an organisation
which tells them how they are performing in the real market (Bampton and Cowton, 2013).
Similarly the key objectives, the core competencies, the drivers of performance, etc. all need to
identify before effective performance measurement can be achieved (Mayer, et. al., 2015).
2 Performance measure tools are used in Samsung are:
 Metrics and KPIs – This indicator indicates on how the business unite is making
performance as compare to their strategic goals.
 360-degree feedback – It gives or shows the area on which an individual employee or
person require the improvement.
 MBO – Management by objectives is the method where the employer and employees
work together for a common goal of the organisation. MBO planning flows downward
from top management to the lower management.
 Reward and recognition seminars – In Samsung, management follows the tactics called
the reward and recognition schemes where all the employees get recognised for their best
performance and awarded with the special awards (Ishigaki, et. al., 2013).
Quality Audit- Systematic process of a quality system which is done by an internal or external
auditor or by the audit team. These audits perform at the specific time interval, enable that the
company has defined external and internal machines monitoring procedures linked to effective

tactics. Auditor are the essential management tools used for verifying objectives, they check how
successfully processes have been implemented, they judge the effectiveness of achieving target
goals and it the part of compliance or regulatory team (Mir and Pinnington, 2014).
Internal quality audits are important for Samsung:
Audit or quality check is a crucial part for ensuring optimal performance of a quality
management system. Following are the reason why the internal audit is importance in
Samsung:
 It identifies areas which require improvement: An audit finds the effectiveness of a
quality that makes quite simple to identify and control segments in the company which
requires the improvement.
 Provides internal feedback – Part of an audit process is gathering feedback from the
employees for the future welfare of the organisation.
 Produces the audit report – An audit report is crucial part for growing the company
because it provides a summary of the investigation and offers a key observation in which
company can control factors which cause there growth decline (Van, et. al., 2015).
 Helpful in preparation for external audits – Companies can learn on how they should act
when external audit occur. Performing internal audit task help the management in
identifying the areas which needs to control and it gives knowledge on how to behave in
front of external auditors.
Good practices demonstrating by Samsung during their operations:
 Adopt Six sigma methodology
 Utilise the APS system for the electronic market changes
 Establish a risk management system
 Follow all the government rules and regulations
 Considering the environmental welfare.
Recommendations for Samsung

Mobile radiation:
There are so many articles or news that talk about how Samsung and few other companies are
destroying the environment because there electronics products or mobile phone are always sent
radiation that not only affects the environment but also affects the human body. With a
phenomenal increase in the number of cellphone or mobile users in the world the harmful effects
of electromagnetic radiation emitted from a mobile phone that affects the human body. Birds are
the primary victims of radiation then our environment becomes a victim for this electromagnetic
radiation. The population of house sparrows has drastically decreased in recent years due to the
rising number of mobile towers. These mobile phones emit a low frequency of 1800MHz, called
microwaves. The microwaves is interfering with the sensors of the bird and misguide them while
navigating and preying. Health risks including lack of concentration, memory loss and digestive
disturbance can occur from the mobile radiation (Francis, et. al., 2013).
Samsung should make a mobile tower which do not cause any harm to the environment and the
human body. In the meantime, Samsung should spread awareness in the public on how they can
minimize the effect of mobile radiation on their body. Below are recommendations Samsung
should spread among the society:
 Avoid the use of the phone when the signal is weak:
When mobile signals are low, a power increase to emit a maximum amount of radiation
because the mobile tries to connect to the nearest network antenna (Skinner and
Srinivasan, 2012).
 Do not sleep with power “ON” cellphone:
Sleep is distributed because of mobile radiation. Always keep the mobile on-air mode or
on offline mode or keep the phone away while sleeping.
 Use Home and office with corded landline:
Corded wires minimise the strength of radiation that don't cause that much harm to the
body.

Accounting Ethics:
Accounting ethics are an important topic because this involves abuse of information,
potential, and possibilities for changes in figure, manipulation of numbers, change in
enforce earning management. Ethics should be more of general principles such as
integrity, morals, and honesty. Samsung should follow the accounting ethics and below
are the recommendation for them:
 Confidentiality of information – Failure to keep information confidential can ruin the
reputation of the company and harm huge losses. If the information handed over to the
wrong person then it could also open the door of fraud, identity theft and other illegal
activities (Bampton and Cowton, 2013).
 Honesty and integrity – Integrity means to never do anything without following the
compliance policy.
 Objectivity and independence – Many financial advisor offer their clients advise on
investing services. It is crucial that these financial officers maintain a fiduciary
responsibility and make the objective solution (Mayer, et. al., 2015).

Conclusion
The quality standard helps the company for increasing the product quality and helps in building
the customer loyalty. It also helps in increasing customer satisfaction which enhances the
reputation of the organisation. Another service is supply chain management which transform raw
materials into finished goods. It helps in decreasing purchase cost, on time delivery, decrease
production cost and improves after sales services. It has been concluded that Samsung need to
adopt measure to emit the radiations from the mobile towers and mobile phones. Samsung
should make such technology which cause no harm to human body and environment. They
should also spread awareness in the society regarding the radiation that cause harm to their body.
There are other recommendations for Samsung like should create more job opportunities,
cultivate strong co-worker relationships, practice flexibility and promote a team atmosphere.
