Question 1
Saudi Arabia because of their extreme usage of fossil fuel has given rise to many
health issue. Several policies and laws are proposed by the government of Saudi Arabia to
increases awareness regarding the effect of pollution on environment. One of the policy is
Presidency of Meteorology and Environmental Protection Act, which was implemented in
1992 (Ahmad, 2016). It was enacted to encourage creation of laws and policy for
environmental and to increase environmental awareness. In addition it is also working to
generate a series of environmental contracts with another countries. It is also running an
organization named as The General Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Protection
which handles all the policy related to the environment (The State of the Environment, 2017).
It is also collaborated with The Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the
Environment Program, which is enacted by U.S government in 1994 (The globe program,
2019).
Question 2
Public health is defined as the way of preventing disease and increasing the life
expectancy rate. Due to urbanization and high living standard ground, air and water pollution
is generated which hampers the human health. To plan the environmental health, several
points are considered such as, effect of the pollution in general population, background of the
population is considered for whom the policy is being generated and also the adverse effect
could rise duet the policy is also considered. After planning it is introduced and then it is
evaluated by measuring the positive impact of the policy on general population and if any
improvisation is required should be done (CDC.gov, 2019).

According to a news report, Riyadh is ranked as one of the most polluted cities
globally by United States. Riyadh experience sandstorm by the emission from different
vehicles and factories. To control the air pollution in Riyadh, a law is enacted by the
government which require the industry to establish units in their chimney that can measure
the emission of pollutant in real life. In addition, specific limit of pollutant that can be
accepted is also given by the government which should be followed strictly (Alharbi,
Alduwais & Alhudhodi, 2017).
