Introduction
Charity is a non-profitable activity which is done for facilitating needy
people who are not able to fulfil their basis needs or requirements. In fact,
numerous of institutions or events are organized for protecting Animals,
insects, birds, water bodies and various other species from getting harmed.
Therefore, this presentation is going to highlight the events and sessions
conducted for preventing Whales named as “SAVE The WHALES”.
Mission is to preserve and defend ocean and its habitants

Whales
It’s widely distributed by having distinct group of properly aquatic marine
mammals. They are having two parovorders such as; Baleen whales and
Toothed whales. Whales are mainly creatures which are identified in open
ocean as well as do all their activities in sea such as; feed, mate, give birth,
suckle and becoming young in same place. They are unable to survive on land
and only spend their whole life on sea. In fact, size of whales started from 2.6
meters (8.5 ft) and 135 kilograms (298 Ib) dwarf sperm whale to the almost
29.9 metres (98 ft) and 190 metric tons (210 short tons) which is blue whale
and considered as one of the most largest creature which have ever lived.

Moreover, Sperm whale is known as toothed
predator on earth. On the other hand, whales
are fully developed from land living mammals
as these whales breathe air continuously
although by continuing get submerged under
water for large period of duration.
Additionally, there are few species like sperm
whale are able to be submerged for more than
90 minutes.

Seas Around UK
According to researcher from Zoological Society of London and Aarhus
University seas across the UK are seen as most polluted at global
platform. Researcher team analysed that pollutants threatened to “wipe
out” the species in a “killer whale apocalypse”. However, chemical
pollutants have a major influence on reproduction and immune system of
killer whales as well as affect these species in most accurate way.

Pollution
Whales and Dolphins are only lived in the world of water and sound as
well as use sound for feeding, communicating and identifying distinct
ways across the world. Therefore, occurrence of oil, chemicals or high
level of unnatural noise creates problems for them in various manners. For
instance; chemicals spills, seismic noise which is used by enterprise for
finding oil or gas, organizing loud military exercises nearby sea area as
well as maximization in boat traffic created whales or dolphins both in
greater dangers.

Reason for Saving Whales
Whales are consider most indispensable species in sea world because it
helps in protecting the environment or oceans and regulate the flow of
flood by supporting in maintaining a stable food chain. Along with this,
make sure that particular animal species will not overpopulate the ocean.
Moreover, whale poop is playing a very eminent role in preventing
surrounding by supporting to offset carbon in atmosphere.

Whales killed year from whaling
From the late 1930s almost more than 50, 000 whales were killed in every
year. Thus, in 1986, International Whaling Commission banned
commercial whaling due to high level of depletion of large number of
whale stocks.

Charitable organizations for Safeguarding Whales
UK bodies are trying to protect the whales from various harmful effects
such as; pollution, extreme level of noise pollution and many more danger
things.

Whale and Dolphin Conservation
It’s a wildlife charitable association which solely get engaged in
worldwide protection as well as welfare of all the whales, dolphins and
porpoises. However, WDC was established in almost 1987 by having its
headquarters in Chippenham in Wiltshire, UK. Till the end of 2012, this
association is famous for Whales and Dolphin Conservation Society but it
become one of the most leading NGO which is only dedicated for
preventing cetaceans as well as its living environments.

In fact, this institution founded their partner of Convention on Migratory
Species which is considered as Bonn Convention that is also a part of
United Nations Environment Programme. Along with this, association got
involved in enhancing regional prevention contracts and conventions as
well as closely cooperating with ORCA research station Orca Lab in
British Columbia, Canada.

ORCA
This organization is just established for safeguarding whales and dolphins
both and believes that there is only single way for protecting them is by
determining areas where its becomes more vulnerable by studying its
habitats. Through this, members of these association believing that they
can defend whales by changing the worsen things nearby sea places in
order to making them for use.

In October month of every year, numerous of students from distinct
schools come closer for taking part in ORCA’s Whale Education month.
However, it’s an annual programme which covers number of topics in
every year. Thus, main objective of this event is to promote protection of
whales in different schools for teaching the students about the situation of
whales.

Reflection
By analysing entire assignment, I have learnt about the significance of whales in
environment and problems which are faced by them because of disturbance in
sea such as; noise pollution, chemicals into sea and many more things which is
dumped by various large organization into sea. In fact, I came to know that
pollutions are major reason behind death of half of the species because chemicals
influence them in various manners. However, whales are lived in sea and their
entire life is surrounded around water bodies or act by listening the sounds which
incurred around these regions. At the same time, I found that large number of
charitable organizations is emerging at global platform for safeguarding the life
of whales which are living in sea areas of Europe and UK.
