Presentation
AI Summary
This presentation focuses on the urgent need to save whales, detailing the various reasons behind their endangerment and the detrimental effects of whaling practices. It outlines the historical context of whale hunting, the current legal loopholes exploited by companies, and the devastating statistics related to whale populations. The presentation explores the consequences of whaling on both the species themselves and the broader marine ecosystem, including its impact on the carbon cycle. It provides recommendations for whale conservation, such as eliminating marine debris, banning whaling in specific countries, and emphasizes the importance of protecting these intelligent creatures for the health of the oceans and the planet. The presentation concludes by highlighting the multiple benefits of whale conservation and advocating for the use of alternative resources to protect whales and their environment.

Introduction
Everyday whales around the world are being killed. Some whales are being killed for
scientific purpose and some are killed for the benefits that they provide to humans. This
presentation is based on the charitable cause of saving whales and why they are important.

Main Body
Over the centuries whales had been killed for number of reasons and due to this whaling
practices has been developed. Today whole world has made haunting whales illegal in
most of the country. But different companies that are running their business for profit
motive finds little loopholes so as to continue hunting these marine animals. As it is legal
to hunt whales for scientific purpose and different companies are using this to fulfil their
objective of hunting whales. Different excuses are given by the company when asked for,
such as after conducting research selling the whales meat is the easiest way to dispose of
the corpse.

Statistics
The use of whale oil started to feel decline from the late 19th century because of the use of
alternatives that were present in the market and due to the environmental law that were
passed to protect whaling. In the year 1986 the internation whaling commission passed
resolution that specified a ban on using the whale oil.

Consequences
“The impact of whaling and the use of blubber in reducing the carbon cycle of ocean”
When human hunts fish they tend to favor animals that provide significant resources. Whales
had been the target of humans from early centuries. The international ban on whaling has
helped some species to recover, while many has fallen to the fraction of their recovery. It
affects the species and the ecosystem in drastic way. It has impacted species and the
ecosystem and has also impacted the climate.
As when whales flourish in the ocean they carry a good amount of carbon to sea floor after
dying. They can function as one of the effective vertebrates to carbon credits.

Recommendations
As the whales are on the top list of being endangered animals the ways that will help in making them
revive and to preserve them from depletion are given below. Certain steps should be taken by
humans that would help in reducing their endangerment. These are:
Marine debris, trash in the ocean, is a major threat to whales. These debris and the trash should be
cleared from the ocean and should be banned from littering.
Government of Japan should stop whaling. It should also be banned in Norway and Iceland as over
1000 whales a year are killed for commercial hunting. Which is the major cause of depletion of the
whales.

Reflections
As per the me, protecting whales is a most important social cause. As being human and living on earth
the need for healthy ocean arises, which can be only fulfilled by the whales. It is not enough to
conserve the vulnerable species but the need to restore the ocean environment is of immense
importance. As it is proved that like humans whales also has a high intelligence. If there is
abundance of whales and dolphins the stability of the society and the health of the planet is achieved.
Save the whales is not just a title it is a global necessity for today's world. As humans have done a
huge amount of damage to the planet including culling millions of whales and wiping out up to 90%
of the population.

Conclusion
It has been concluded from the above assignment that whales should be preserved for the
overall benefit of the planet. They are one of the specie that helps in maintaining ecological
balance and it benefits to the marine life. The whale oil is no the only oil that would help in
generating the use of different products. It should be seen that there are different substitutes
that can be used so that future of whales can be protected. Another aspects that is covered
in this report is that protecting whales has numerous benefits in relation to the environment
and it leads to carbon generation and maintaining balance between them
