Introduction
I am a multitalented student with the ability to perform well in both academics and
sports. I am good in business studies and communication both of which I have performed
excellently since high school. I was the head of the business club while in high school due to
my understanding and great passion for the business subject. Additionally, my good
communication skills assist with my interpersonal skills, which has resulted in becoming a
good sales person due to the ability to relate to various persons. The good salesperson skills
assisted in getting a job at the local coffee shop. Additionally, I participated in sporting
activities such as football and rugby. I have excelled in football since junior level, and I
currently play for the university team. Moreover, I have first-hand experience in business as
an employee at a local coffee shop where I was a supervisor. The experience assisted in
knowing the challenges that face businesses and how to develop solutions to solve the
problems. My inspiration is to become the best student in my class both in academics and in
curriculum activities. Additionally, I would like to get better business knowledge and forge a
career in business and communication. The ability to understand how better to run a business
increases the motivation to complete the course and have a clear idea of what I would like to
be after university.
Reason for joining college
The reason I joined Asia Pacific International College was to take up a course in
business at the best school in the country. The school has a record of producing successful
corporate persons and entrepreneurs. The need to become a top businessperson inspired the
decision to join a college with such a good record of accomplishment (Slide, 2018).
Additionally, I joined the college to become independent in my decision-making and actions.
Before college, I depended on my parents and older siblings to guide my decisions or make
decisions on my behalf. Therefore, the decision to join the college was to be in a position to

live by myself and make individual decisions. The decisions include such as the control of
money and making major decisions about my future. Additionally, I joined the college since
it accommodates students from many countries due to the international nature. The students
from diverse nations assist to boost my interpersonal skills and to learn the different
behaviour of people (Slide, 2018).
Future career plans
My plans include developing a strong career in business and communication. I believe
that I can develop my career due to my interpersonal skills and experience in running a
business while working at a local coffee shop. I believe that with the learning at the school I
can become a strong and diligent businessperson with excellent communication skills. I
would like to start my career by working with a fortune company as a trainee and gain the
relevant experience to earn the top management position. Additionally, I would like to start
my own company that deals with business consultancy and communication. My priority is to
acquire the best knowledge in business by studying and researching to get a better
understanding my field of study. Additionally, I would like to develop my communication
skills by practising and interacting with various persons who expose me to different
interactive situations. Moreover, I would like to join the business association at the school to
get basic skills required in trade since the club exposes the members to real-life business
situations.
Therefore, the college will help in developing my business communications skill and
creating a strong career path.
Personal strengths
My strength is creativity with the ability to develop solutions to problems within a
short time. Additionally, I can come up with different perspectives of viewing an idea, which
results in innovations in business situations. The ability also helps to build on ideas and come

up with strong business plans, which improve operations and customer satisfaction.
Moreover, I a good communicator with great interpersonal skills which assists in getting
along with all kinds of persons. The ability could help in getting more customers due to the
ability to convince persons and present myself differently to suit the requirements of each
customer. Additionally, I am a committed and hardworking person with a lot of self-belief
that I can succeed in what I set out to do. The trait assists in the successful completion of
activities that seem complex. Moreover, I have succeeded in the starting of an online
business. The business will horn my internet business skills, which is the current trend in
commerce, therefore giving an advantage of coping with the changes in business (Pasteur,
2018).
Weaknesses
I have weaknesses that I feel will cause problems in the achievement of goals.
However, I am determined to correct the weaknesses before causing much harm in pursuing
my goals. I struggle with the weakness of having a pressing need to do things faster and clear
my to-do list. The weakness results in some poor performances in some activities that I feel
should leave my activity list. Additionally, the need results in stress when I fail to accomplish
some of the activities in time. The stress levels could rise resulting abandonment of the task
and failure to perform other tasks perfectly as required. The weakness hinders my
performance when under pressure which results in requiring a lot of time to accomplish a
task. Moreover, I also tend to get nervous when talking to a new audience. The weakness
results in the failure of actively talking to new persons, which limits my networks to only
groups of persons that I know on a personal basis (Pasteur, 2018).
Opportunities
I have a great opportunity resulting in a current enrolment in an online class, which
offers international business and communication skills. The studies will help me stand out

class. Additionally, the online class assists in exposing the students to business professionals

where prominent businesspersons will give speeches to the persons in attendance. The
seminar allows job seekers and continuing students to get job opportunities and industrial
mentors. The opportunity will assist in networking with the best and get a mentor to guide in
my studies and in developing a career path (Pasteur, 2018).
Threats
The threats that I face while in school include the lack of first-hand business and
communication experience. The school only offers theoretical learning without practical
experiences in the areas of study. The lack of practical skills could result in problems while
trying to adapt to the corporate world. Additionally, the lack of current experience in business
will result in problems when searching for a job since most employers require workers with
new business skills. Additionally, the threat of slow economic growth affects my chances of
landing a job after completing university. The slow economic growth results in major staff
layoffs and unemployment (Pasteur, 2018).
Reasons the course will help to achieve career goals
The further studies assist in developing a clear career path due to the learning
activities and materials provided at the school. The college provides enough study materials
to kick-start a career in business and communication. The school produces the most qualified
persons to the market and employers give priority to the college’s graduates. Therefore, I
believe that the advantage given to the students will assist in landing a job faster when I
complete the studies.
