Introduction
• The Company chosen for this assignment is known as “Singh”.
• The Company’s mission is to reconstruct the bridge which was built in
a harbour.
• It has given the request for proposals and waiting for the tender
documents for the reconstruction of the harbour bridge.
• The tenders are taken and the requirements, criteria are considered to
select the contract for the construction.

Cost and Time Estimation
• Cost and Time estimation for the reconstruction of the harbour bridge
purely depends on the number of labours involved in the work and the
distance of the bridge.
• If the distance gets increased, it takes more cost and time to complete.
• If the number of labours gets increased, less time is required to
complete the work.
• Total Cost – 70 million for 1 km bridge
• Total Time – 400 days

Geographic Location
• The harbour bridge is going to be constructed in the urban area. The
port is situated inside the city limit.
• The concrete bridge is not safe for the harbour bridge, as heavy
vehicles will be more.
• So the type of bridge is Steel.
• The bridge is going to be constructed in the place where many
disasters like Tsunami, cyclones, heavy monsoons may occur.
• The geographic location is the eastern west coast plain.

Acceptance Criteria
• Any contracts or tenders should be evaluated using some special
criteria in which the tenderers differ from one another.
• The acceptance criteria can be classified as financial criteria, technical
ability of the contractor and the management capability of the
contractor.
• The time, cost and quality are the major factors for the acceptance
criteria.
• Looking into these factors, the organization can decide the contractor
to build the harbour bridge.

Other Requirements
• The main requirements for the construction of the bridge includes cost,
labour and materials.
• The other requirements of the construction work specifies the habitat
for the labours near to the construction site.
• Drainage and water facilities that is required for the construction of the
bridge.
• Earthwork and night lighting for the construction work completion.
• Equipment for the major works of the construction.

Work Breakdown Structure
• Work breakdown structure is the process that defines the
decomposition of the works or activities that are involved in the
project.
• WBS is the hierarchical decomposition, where the main module is
kept in the top layer.
• Below the top layer, the main deliverable is specified.
• Then the sub deliverables are presented in the third layer
• Finally Lowest sub deliverables are provided in the last layer of the
work breakdown structure.

Milestone Schedule
• Milestone schedule is the project schedule which specifies the start
and end of the each process.
• The start date and end date is provided for each processes that is
involved in the project. If it is a long term project, month and year can
be specified.
• In the construction of the harbour bridge, it takes 400 week days from
September 2017 – April 2019. The weekends are not considered here.
• If the labours are ready to work during weekends then the time will be
from September 2017 – October 2018.

Quality Assurance
• The quality assurance is the process of assuring the quality of the
products or the services that are being executed.
• As it is the construction of the bridge in harbour, there is chance for
heavy vehicles in more number.
• So it is very important to provide quality assurance standard by
checking the bridge with their every qualities like the materials,
equipment and total cost, time that are utilized for the completion of
the construction.

• Procurement strategy is the strategy that is followed by the
organization to make their mission or goal into finished or valuable
product.
• This strategy is used by the Singh to reconstruct a harbour bridge with
good quality.
• The estimation cost and the number of labours are determined in
highest rate.
• Time is given in sufficient amount to complete the construction
process of the harbour bridge.
