1. Introduction
The project focuses on providing a new and innovative design, size, and layout of the
“Sydney Cricket Ground” (SCG), while reflecting on the past. Thus, the masterplan is
transforming the historic stadium, such that it can reaffirm its role as a primary sporting and
performing complex, while rejoicing its heritage and tradition. Notably, in 2008, phase one of the
redesign was finalized with the launch of the “Victor Trumper Stand.” Due to this fact, stage two
focuses on the redesigning of the “MA Noble,” “Don Bradman,” and “Dally Messenger Stands”
with a new 186 Australian million dollar pavilion. These changes would enhance audience
enjoyment, and provides inventory facilities for corporate customers, the media, and spectators.
Hence, the project will change the main orthodoxy about how people feel about SCG.
Alternatively, the project plans to tell its media story by focusing on the historic arcade
and examining the SCG in fine detail. Besides, it explores the heritage-listed participants, and
original plans and sketches in high definition. Lastly, the project plans to tell its media story by
taking a virtual walk onto the field, and viewing the ground from a player’s standpoint.
Importantly, the media story uses the format and structure of a secondary source, that is, the
“Google Cultural Institute” (GCI), which provides an attractive and collaborative platform for
digital storytelling (Sydney Cricket Ground, n.d.). Therefore, through high definition digital
artifacts and multimedia properties, the SCG Museum collections are presented on the GCI with
fine detail, collaborative virtual reality, and amplified reality experiences.

SCG’s narrative is based on the traditional Australian context that dates back to its British
colonial culture. In addition, the context sightsees the connection between culture and sport in
Australia, and seeks to dictate the level to which game pays in the inclusive “Australian
identity.” Due to this fact, the context is set within the general Australian community.
Importantly, it utilizes the SCG as a situation study to validate how postmodern and traditional
discourses impact people’s idea of “Australian identity,” and the duty of sport in nurturing
character. Besides, this perspective will be presented in the fifth Ashes Test between England
and Australia at SCG.
According to the traditional Australian context, the SCG is a product of customary
Australian ethos that dates back to its “British colonial heritage” through the dissemination of
sports like cricket in the Australian community. Nevertheless, British customs and values were
included in the Australian life, and over time have been espoused as Australian customs (Saad,
2012). Normally, the SCG site has complicated connections to Britain since 1850, whereby the
region was intended for the British Military, as a “soldier’s cricket ground.” In addition, SCG
acted as a dominant and historic venue for cricket in NSW. Thus, it was a symbolic venue of the
continuous existence of British culture in Australia since its foundation.
The traditional Australian values, like loyalty and mate-ship, were inculcated and
reinforced through taking part in sport. According to the traditional Australian context, sport
represented an imperative institute through which British grand principles were proselytized into
its colonies, which were then fostered through the impact of religious and educational powers.
Notably, such a notion covers other well-known and distinct Australian sporting such as
“Australian Rules Football.”

high definition videos and photos. These media formats not only assist in presenting a clear
image of how SCG has transformed into a dominant and historic facility that depicts the
Australian sporting culture. Notably, the key to developing a strong multimedia content is by
understanding the impact that various visual mediums have on the audience, and how and when
to use each. Thus, they help in capturing the audience’s attention, and ensuring that the message

resonates with them because they make it easier for the audience to process challenging
concepts, and reducing how long it takes to understand SCG’s history and redesigning.
4. Statement on How the Contributions Fit the Team Members
These contributions intend to paint a vivid picture of how SCG has gained its position as
Australia’s dominant and historical complex. Besides, they focus on how SCG has influenced
Australian culture, as it has not only instills British heritage through cricket, but also enabled
Australians to maintain their fundamental aspects.

Generally, the new four-level stand on SCG focus on offering better spectators’
viewpoint, and inventory facilities for enterprise clients. Thus, the project focuses on enhancing
catering, media, AFL players, and corporate facilities. Alternatively, the plan tells its media story
by prioritizing on historic arcade, and assessing the SCG in detail. Notably, the media story uses
secondary sources such as digital and visual storytelling formats that provide the audience a
better understanding of SCG’s role in the Australian culture. Thus, the narrative is presented in
