1. Was the reading useful and in line with the topic for week? If yes, why was the reading useful? If
no, why not and what would have made the reading more useful; in your opinion?
This article (The role of Chief Business Officer) is useful and in line with the topic learned this
week. The article explores the financial and budgetary roles of a CBO. These responsibilities
include the calculation of the dollars needed in achieving predetermined goals of the students.
The document sets forth the relevance of an annual budget in accomplishing the financial and
accounting role of a CBO. Most importantly, the budget should be in line with the desired
objectives. The financial planning aspect should anticipate future student’s needs such as
maintenance and operations, instructional program, and other aspects of effective program to
students.
2. Did you find something significantly important within the article/reading that informed your
understanding of school finance? If yes please share this along with a page and or passage from
the reading.
I like the way this article articulates several aspects relating to school finance. It has come to my notice
that school finance entails a wide spectrum of operations. Most importantly, the fulfillment of these
operations should relate to the optimization of the overall purpose of existence of the institution. In
other words, effective delivery of the learning program to the students marks the key principle. Some
of the operations entailed in school finance include fiscal accounting, reports and auditing, payroll,
purchasing and warehousing, insurance and risk management, facilities management, maintenance and
operations, food service among others (Pinedo, & Xu, 2017).
3. What part of the reading caught your eye/grabbed your attention and why? (In order to respond

yourself).
What caught my attention is located on page 54 of the article. In other word, I am delighted with
the way this article directs readers on the way forward during the early days of a school business
official (Drucker, 2019). The points illustrated at this point are very essential especially in fulfilling
financial aspects. The points articulated in this section aids in reducing confusion during the early

stages in the real profession. Furthermore, they aid in understanding the school in order to priorities
financial operations for the welfare of the students.
4. How do you see yourself using information from the article in the future?
In future, the information provided in this article is vital in shaping my orientation stages in any
organization. The directions provided by the article for the way forward during the early stages
as a school official not only apply in the context within which the information is placed but
sound fundamental across all platforms of professionalism. Furthermore, this article shall remind
me to remain diversified in understanding all departments for effective delivery of school finance
related duties.
