AI Summary
This essay examines the historical and ongoing relationship between science and Christianity, focusing on the question of whether science is inherently secular. It traces the evolution of Christian perspectives on science, from early acceptance and patronage to periods of conflict and eventual reconciliation through theological interpretations. The essay highlights the contributions of Christian scholars to scientific advancements and argues that the perceived conflict between science and religion is a false dichotomy. Instead, it suggests that Christianity has often embraced scientific progress as a means of understanding God's creation, incorporating new discoveries into its worldview. The essay concludes that science, in its pursuit of knowledge and improvement of humanity, is fundamentally secular, having evolved independently of religious constraints while often being supported and integrated into Christian thought.

Introduction
The science in the world of Christendom has a history of both opposition and acceptance in its
long history of 2000 years. The early Christians had a good touch with the pagan Worldviews,
which made them. The early history of Christianity of the same period suggests that Christian
Teachers like Tertullian had a negative view of the Greek philosophy while Origen of the same
period had favourable regard for the subject and encouraged his students to learn and experiment
more on the resources available to them. Apart from a few incidents and historical opinions the
Christianity was always in favour of scientific studies and had been the patron of it since the
beginning days of Christianity. However, in the early days of Christianity, they had some
problems dealing with Newtonian physics and Darwin's evolution or relativity perspectives.
Scientists Operating from a Christian Worldview
Christianity has undergone many kinds of reforms to have taken in science as a secular subject to
be dealt aside from religion was at the heart of it. Nevertheless, there were moments when
Science and religion clashed as the example of Galileo is one to note. The Science in
Christendom was not that secular based on where it was propagated and which it dealt with. But
the evolution made the science and religion to be dealt separately as was highlighted in the works
of Robert John Russell who made the first consonance with biology, physics, evolution with
Christian Theology to make the study of science as a beneficiary part of the modern days to
better understand the scriptures from every aspect (Torrance, 2017). The Christendom came in
under the patronage of science making the struggle for existence and patterns of biological
existence and became a norm in the long run with the intervention of the Biblical scholars
Religion and Science (Valčo & Boehme, 2017).
The Foundation for Science Is Biblical Christianity
In the book “For The Glory of God”, the sociology and comparative religious study were
conducted to understand the stance of Christianity in the context of science (Block, 2014). The
Bible says that “Suppression of the Truth is Unrighteousness” which forms the basis for the
original history for the Christianities' affinity towards scientific studies. The Protestants of
England were on the edge of this among the various schools of Christianity, considering the truth

as the key to all comparative religions (McGrath, 2016). It suggests that during the time of
Christopher Columbus all ministries know the Earth was round and Copernicus devoted his time
to Christian universities to prove that the earth rotated on its Axis with mathematical
calculations. Hence, this makes it clear that Christendom was eager to know more about God's
handiwork. This made the science to be more inclusive into the Christendom to make the people
aware and have more experiments and scientific knowledge to make the needful conclusions
about science and religious beliefs.
Even during the Dark ages which are considered to be between 600 to 1600 AD saw a great deal
of innovation and scientific inclusions with the religion making progress in weapons, navigation,
manufacturing etc. giving the Christendom the edge to revolutionize the globe. The patronages
of the Church in many cases are significant in such new studies as the history points out. George
Caylor, the molecular biologists, also cites the genetic coding not as in the evolutionary process
but as an act of intelligence that he meant to suggest God’s hand in such intelligent design
development.
It is Not Science Vs. Religion
The debate is not Science vs Religion as is projected by many who are orthodox in their beliefs,
and so the scope of science and its utility surpassed the religious dogmas to create the most
efficient ways to suggest the theological and intellectual discourses are not against science. The
theology has always got its scientific contexts in the series of works of various scholars of
various ages which have made science to be independent of religious orthodoxies. Hence, the
debate was that religion was evolving with the new discoveries to provide space for science and
religion coexists together (Vaidyanathan et al., 2016). The Book of Jobs is a good example that
has always motivated mankind to seek more for the sake of human welfare and thus gave the
new learning and patronage for discoveries and mathematics a good scope under the patronage of
the Church. There are many examples where the Church has supported the knowledge and their
signs of progress under the garb of religion to assist human beings to have a better and more
comfortable life. This book in the Old Testament stands as the basis of al discoveries and its
acceptance by the Christendom as the knowledge of God was always the will of the religion to
be found out for the best of benefits of human lives and sufferings (Lipton, 2017).

An Evolutionary Worldwide Equals Science
Religion has two world views, like flexible agonistics and rigid agnostics. At times the rigid or
orthodox have not included the scientific studies, but with time, it came in and merged with the
Biblical interpretations to make them follow the new findings as God’s work. Hence with the
evolution of the knowledge and science, the concepts and aspects were all taken in together to
make the best for the understanding of all Scientific studies as theistic aspects with time (Pereira,
Vaz, & Tognetti, 2017). This evolution of the religion made it more oriented to science and made
it ask questions. Christianity, as suggested before, has interpreted the global views with time
making the evolution of the science and the world views.
Conclusions
The scientific progress in the dark ages was so evident which suggests that science was always
secular except for some interruptions by few in the course of history. However, Christianity has
adopted the best of all cultures in itself to give the Christendom the best of education and
knowledge under the Patronage of religion that ensures is not science vs the religion in any case
so far as Christianity is concerned. Hence, the science in its whole view is secular in its basis
since the adoption of the best aspects to improve humanity is strictly secular and has evolved
with time irrespective of religion or region.
