Introduction
This paper will aim at innovation in the United States after the period of industrialization.
The development and invention of several new materials will be discussed in this paper. The use
of technology to make these new inventions will be highlighted for a better understanding of the
readers.
The invention of new materials
Many new power sources had been invented due to the industrial revolution in the USA
and the entire western world. Innovation was the main motto in this time, and it catered to the
development of many new things in the world of the west. One of the inventions during this time
was the bowie knife that was invented by Col. James Bowie (Gutenberg.org. 2019). This was a
great invention of power because the inventor thought this knife would be convenient to use in
close fighting. It is because this knife was shorter than the sword but heavy. So, users could gain
the upper hand if they used this power source. This has been made in various shapes and sizes
over the ages. This is why it is one of the best inventions in US history indeed (Gutenberg.org.
2019).
Many new materials were developed during this period as well. An invention of the
electro-magnetic boat can be named in this scenario. Dr. Page of Washington had invented this
new material. Traditional boats were already created. After that, he invented this boat that could
be propelled by the use of electromagnetic power. Therefore, the electro-magnetic boat had been
one of the best inventions by the use of technology (Gutenberg.org. 2019). This boat could be
used on many occasions and in natural disasters as well. After the design of this new material,
many people were benefitted. The fire engines were developed during this time as well.

Materials for daily use like sewing machines had been developed and made fit for the ordinary
people to use. The process could be completed further (Gutenberg.org. 2019).
These new materials were helpful to make new inventions. The cast iron plates had been
used as new material. This made swift progress in building roofs of houses. This material was
beneficial to make the roof watertight (Gutenberg.org. 2019). The invention of cheese-press
could also be one of the most useful things for the betterment civilization. This cheese-press
could lead to do the work within a short, and the amount was not massive as well. The cast iron
plates were also about a foot square (Gutenberg.org. 2019). These things would be handy enough
for the innovations and using technology could be implemented in these cases.
Communication process was one of the most precious things that were key to the
betterment of society and human beings. Some of the things that had been invented during the
time of industrialization were textile technology, electricity, steam power, means of
transportation and others (Gwynne, 2014). The invention of telephone was also a booster for
betterment in communication. This made people of far away distance come close and talk
through this device. Steamboats were also developed to send the goods from one place to
another. The invention of telephone by Alexander Graham Bell brought people close as
mentioned earlier (Gwynne, 2014). Steamboats were also used for carrying passengers across the
rivers in the United States. The invention of steam locomotives also brought the revolution in the
communication between people and regions.

On a concluding note, it can be said that new innovations have been the vehicles for the
progress of the country. After the industrialization, United States went on to become one of the
