Introduction
There are many ways by which a scientific research is conducted and in this particular
phase, the process of gathering information and related materials would be addressed. An
effective research proposal is based on the methodologies by which a data collection or material
utilization matters. A student might feel overwhelmed with the initial idea of creating or
conducting a scientific research altogether (Alvesson and Sköldberg 2017). There can also be a
huge flow of ideas on how to begin with the material and data collection method but it will be
justified for the students pursuing the scientific and technological career that a single and
effective methodology be used for the process.
Chapter 3: Materials to be used
The word ‘research’ itself means to search for knowledge. For researching a scientific or
technological phenomenon, a researcher has to refer systematic methodologies that have
communicated a problem or any other kind of difficulty like the formulating of hypothesis,
collecting information and data, or analyzing the facts (Berget al. 2014). A factual sentence is
then derived from the analysis with the solution of the given problem or with the help of a
hypothetical information or formulation. Alternative policies can be devised throughout the
research and the consequences of every alternative in the research can be well examined (Beach
and Alvager 1992). However, maneuvering the phases of data collection for the research material
can focus on the matter that a decision making may or may not be part of the research. However,
this definitely helps in making the decision out of economic conditions as per the research

subject. Having a Mind Map is very important for any person for conducting any research on any
scientific or technological topic. The logical sequence of questions must be meeting with the
points and arguments developed under every question. While making the Mind Map it is
necessary that the flow of the entire research would be by hearted and the entire framework of
the research would be based on the flow of the Mind Map (Durham 2014). All the questions
should be based on the headings that will be included in the research proposal. In this way, the
framework was put forward in a way by which materials for the research can be collected buy
discarding all the unimportant data collection methodology that are not supported or effective for
the research.
Mostly collection of data and research materials are conducted through three phases.
These are the investigation of the economic structure, the diagnosis of events, and the future
development prediction (Greenfield and Greener 2016). A brief discussion about all the three
phases are as described as below:
 Investigation of the economic structure: It is necessary that the compilation of
the entire collected facts should be in synchronization with the economic structure
of the entire research plan. For this phase of material collection in research,
economic structure should be taken into account at the initiation.
 Diagnosis of the events: All the reasons due to which the event of the research
paper has taken place should be taken into account because there must be an
underlying name that has caused the event. All the conditions due to which the
materials have evolved in the particular case shall be taken into account.
 Development in the future: This is the primary phase of the analysis by the
architecture of the traditional system to make a person discreetly analyze the

entire situation to gather information. Therefore, it has to be kept in mind that
material and methods to be collected for scientific research is a bit different than
other real life and professional life problems (Weber 2017). This particular phase
also finds out that Data Collection method should not be inappropriate for the data
at hand but it would become incomplete. The book suggests that secondary data
for a research can be collected by easily through various documents, like, box
articles, internet newspapers for periodical data collection. For primary material
collection, data is realized keeping in mind that all the data are assembled and
collected particularly. Therefore, it is not advised that any unfair means while data
collecting for researches be conducted.
During research material collection, number of research materials is gathered with respect
to the current system for the development process. While gathering the probable material
collection for the research paper it is necessary that a few things are kept in mind, like, the main
sources of material or the authorities, personnel, input and output processes. The materials can
depend on many sorts of formats such as, interview or questionnaire (Shannon 2018). These are
about the sources of the information that can be brought into use at a maximum level and being
available in many sources of material.
In addition to that, there is a material collection method technique as listed below:
 Already available documents, samples of documents form and database
 Research & site inspection
 Observation of working environment
 Questionnaires
 Interviews

Gathering information/materials in large and complex organizations related to government or
private sector is very crucial part and it is also very time consuming (Flick 2015). So, all the
relevant personnel should be consulted while this operation is processing.
Conclusion
Thus it can be concluded from the above synopsis that choosing the appropriate
methodology paves the way of creating a framework for the collection of data and materials in
the course of a research work. The guidelines used for materials to be collected thus should be an
appropriate one. For this phase in a research, it is necessary that the data be collected, via both
qualitative and quantitative methodology and then these would be passed on through the phase of
recording of materials and analyzing them. However, it is quite confusing about the number of
arguments and ideas that needs to be presented in the research while continuing the process and
it is very necessary that a primary sorting of ideas be done right at the inception stages so that
there would be no confusion in choosing the appropriate methodology. The methods and
theoretical framework is essential in establishing a firm inclusion of the theoretical framework in
the assignment of research report.
