Bucket List
The term “bucket list” came into vogue ever since the 2007 picture The Bucket List was
released. (Thurnell-Read 57). The bucket list sums up the list of experiences an individual wish
to accomplish before he dies. In the film, two senior men diagnosed with terminal cancer travel
all across the world to get that feeling of self-fulfillment and seek more meaning to life.
Somehow, the film relates the bucket list to travel.
Like many others, my bucket list has several items, but one thing that I am very
passionate about is scuba diving in every ocean in the world. Somehow, life has kept me very
busy all these years, and there is a lot now in my bucket list. However, it is the scuba diving that
I place at the top of the list. Why I did so was because I am passionate about the sport and have
always been fascinated by those images of underwater pictures. I’m a nature lover and feel
motivated after my friends shred their scuba diving experiences with me. I can imagine myself
amidst the peace and quiet of the vast blue sea, and connect with the ocean life. It would be an
incredible experience to explore the beauty and power of the marine world that very few get the
chance to explore. The magical underwater world filled with a fantastic array of colorful
creatures pulls me like a magnet.
Thus, I have always been fascinated with exploring the colorful marine life in the clear
waters of the seas and oceans. It is true that I have always enjoyed being near water and my mom
had to pull me out of the swimming pool. I have been to multiple aquariums, and various water
rides at the amusement parks, but secretly, I have always wondered how it would feel like to

experience those marine life creatures right in their natural surroundings and completely free. I
would love nothing more than exploring the depths of the ocean.
As I am already certified for Scuba diving, I just need to get some information on scuba
diving like where to get the best experiences and which sites to go. In order to fulfill my bucket
list wish, I have looked up for some popular spots across the world that are considered to be the
best scuba diving sites. These include Darwin & Wolf site on the Galapagos Islands, Tiputa Pass
in French Polynesia, Silfra in Iceland, Taveuni in Fiji and some more. (Boat International). These
diving sites boast of clear blue waters and guaranteed sightings of various marine animals. One
can explore California’s kelp beds or the shark-filled North Carolina (PADI). I would love to
explore the diving sites within the United States. I would plan accordingly and the right time to
go as the marine life varies wildly within the United States. I could go to Hawaii islands to swim
with the hammerheads and manta rays or go to the Florida Keys to swim with the tremendous
sharks. I am excited with the thought of exploring the colorful marine life in the best possible
locales.
I can just imagine myself swimming freely with beautiful marine creatures in the vast
oceans. Scuba diving is indeed an essential item in my bucket list and I plan to fulfill it at some
point of time in my life.
