Include some project ideas from areas of personal interest related to the programme of study
There are various project ideas of personal interest which is related to the programme of
study. Major interest is related with the project of new cloud applications or tools and services
and artificial intelligence, augmented reality and virtual reality. Moreover, internet of things and
smart or connected devices, 3D printing and projection immersion along with the motion and
voice detection or drones are also in the project ideas. New web or mobile application
technologies, game design and development or animation, enhancing usability and accessibility
along with the data analysis and visualization and also the electronics and embedded systems are
also of the interests of project ideas (Troise, O'Driscoll, Tani and Prisco, 2020). These are the
project areas which are from the technical background and requires in depth as per the needs and
requirements of project and the implementation performed using the advanced technology.

New web or mobile application development technologies is the chosen project topic.
Project area is related to the software development life cycle (SDLC) phases. This is the project
idea that is associated with the digital business in which online food delivery application and
website is to be developed using the concepts of SDLC technologies. Business problem related
with this project is such that people are lowering their interest in online food orders due to the
high delivery charges and low offers and discounts offered by other companies. That is why this
business idea is chosen to facilitate the customer with low delivery charges, more offers and
discounts and fast delivery services as well. Therefore, new website and mobile application is
developed in the current report using new technologies (Li, Mirosa and Bremer, 2020).

Research Area
The current research area is based on the software development cycle technologies and
phases. It is used to develop the website and mobile application for online food delivery
business. Research is based on the efficient using of the advanced technologies so that the
business can facilitate the customers while providing good offers and discounts with low
delivery charges and fast delivery services. It further identifies the effective ways of developing
the software as well.

Identify an appropriate research philosophy for the project
Research Philosophy provides four aspects to the research in which the research can be
undertaken by the researcher. These four aspects are pragmatism and positivism along with the
realism and Interpretivism. The current research philosophy chosen is the positivism. The reason
being is that it provides the factual information from observations. It includes the collection of
data in an objective manner with proper numeric information (Liu, 2019).
Select appropriate databases to identify research related to the problem investigation
Sequence diagram is defined as the interaction diagram. This is because it helps in
understanding that how the order and group of objects work together. It is used by the software
developer and also the business professionals in order to analyse the requirements of the new
system developed. The below sequence diagram is related with the online food ordering system
as per the needs and requirements of the research area.
Use case diagram can be defined as the graphical representation of of the every possible
interactions among the users and client's. It demonstrates the actors who are using the software
and the in what possible cases they will use the application. It describes the high level of
functions and scope of the system which is seeking to develop. The below use case diagram is
related with the online food ordering system as per the needs and requirements of the research
area.

Activity diagram can be defined as the behavioural diagram that illustrates the behaviour
of the systems. It basically portrays the flow of control from start to end which also relates with

describes the general structure of the software which helps in translating the models into the

Use search strategies to identify relevant research related to the project area using Boolean
searches
Boolean search is defined as the process which helps in structures searching on the web
with the help of well known keywords. It allows users to insert the phrases using AND, OR,
NOT in order to define the search results. The current research uses such elements in order to
research about the project in an effective manner with proper relevant data and information so
that authentic data can be collected (Alalwan, 2020).
Task 3: Research Strategies
Select research strategies used to collect data for the project
There are total eight research strategies which the investigators uses to undertake the
research as per the needs and requirements of the research area. Experiment and surveys along
with the archival research and case study which is followed by the ethnography and action
research and also the grounded theory and narrative inquiry. The current research strategy chosen

is the survey. Survey is used in order to collect the data with the help of questionnaire which will
contain the close ended question. Questions will be related to the customer and market analysis
of demand and unique selling proposition so that the software can be featured accordingly. It will
based on the quantitative form of data collection which will have the numerics and graphical
representation with proper interpretation of the responses collected through questionnaire
(Prasetyo, Tanto, Mariyanto and Redi, 2021).
Identify strategies to enhance validity, reliability, and generalisability
In order to enhance the validity and reliability along with the generalisability of the data
and information used in the current research, a proper research methodology is conducted so that
the an appropriate and authentic data can be used in the research. Therefore, in context of the
current research, research philosophy used in the current research is positivism. Research
approach used is the deductive. Research choice used is the mono method in the form of
quantitative type of data collection based on numerics and facts or figures. Research strategy
used is the survey in the form of questionnaire. Research time horizon used is the cross sectional
studies and research techniques and procedures used is the primary type of data collection (Sun,
2019).
Design a data collection method appropriate for the project / research or problem area
There are basically two types of data collection methods such as primary and secondary
types. The current research is based on the primary type of data collection in which the direct
collection of data is done from the customers. It helps in direct gathering of the opinions which
are proved to be authentic in nature. Questionnaire is used under survey research straggly in
order to perform the primary type of data collection. Secondary is not used because the
development of new software is based on the customers problems which they face at the time of
food ordering. Therefore, customers personal opinions are important to analyse for the software
to be developed in an effective and efficient manner. That is why primary type of data collection
is used for the current research area (Ray, Dhir, Bala and Kaur, 2019).
Acquire some feedback to improve the focus of the problem statement/research question
Research questions arises from the problem statement which has the focal point on the
research objectives. Research questions are as follows:
