SDN Study: Analyzing SDN Security and its Impact on IT Enterprises

This project delves into the realm of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and its associated security challenges. The study begins with an overview of SDN concepts and the rationale behind the research. It explores the methodology, including a comprehensive literature review drawing upon journals, books, and articles to gather relevant information. The primary data collection involves surveying IT employees from HP, Defcon, and Cisco to understand their perspectives on SDN security issues. The data collected through structured questionnaires, including open and closed-ended questions, is then analyzed using SPSS to identify key findings. The presentation of the findings will utilize statistical methods such as descriptive statistics, frequency calculations, cross-tabulations, and one-way ANOVA tests to examine relationships between SDN security issues and their impact on organizational performance. The study aims to provide insights into mitigating security risks within SDN environments.

1. What is the objective of this study?
The main objective of this study is to go through the SDN technique as well as various
security issues associated with it. Here, it determines that SDN can be beneficial for
enterprises. This gives appropriate information about basic concepts of SDN, security issues
and ways to overcome issues.
2. How you have completed the chapter 1?
First chapter of this study gives a brief description about the concepts of software
defined networking as well as its feature. The main reason behind conducting this study is
also presented in this chapter. Appropriate research objectives and question have been framed
here to identify the best suitable findings.
3. How you have conducted literature review (Chapter 2)?
In order to collect literature review and appropriate information about the given
subject matter past studies done by different authors have been taken into consideration. For
this, various journals, books as well as articles related to the SDN concepts and security
issues associated with it are taken into consideration. It has helped in determining most
suitable information.
4. What are your primary sources for data collection (Chapter 3)?
In the present study primary data is being gathered from IT employees of HP, Defcon
and Cisco organizations on the basis of their interest and availability. In this regard, 75
employees have been selected to attain sound knowledge about SDN security issues and ways
to reduce those challenges in a significant manner. In this regard, structured questions are
prepared which include both open and close ended to get reactions of the respondents.
5. Why only from IT employees?
They can provide better response about any type of IT related information as well as
security issues. They are highly responsible for working with these firms and overcoming
with such issues. They better understand the concept of Software-Defined Networking and
issues attached with it.
6. What are you going to present in chapter 4 (Data Analysis)?
In chapter 4 findings will go to be presented as per the responses of IT employees. On the
basis of their filled questionnaire appropriate findings will be framed. Through questionnaire

method, relevant information from employees of HP, Defcon and Cisco enterprises have been
gathered. For this, SPSS tool will be incorporated to identify best suitable findings.
7. How will you present the findings?
In order to present the findings, SPSS technique will be incorporated and hypothesis will
be framed and test by applying statistical method. In this regard, descriptive statistics,
frequency and calculation and cross tabulation between different variables will be applied.
On the other side, one way Anova test will be applied to investigate the relationship between
Software-Defined Networking security issues and their impact on performance of
organizations in the digital world.
