AI Summary
This assignment solution focuses on developing a search strategy to address the topic of 'Weak Primary Healthcare,' identified by the World Health Organisation as a critical public health concern. It translates this topic into an answerable research question using the PICO framework, exploring how inter-professional teamwork can improve the practice of primary healthcare practitioners. The solution identifies relevant keywords such as 'primary health care,' 'inter-professional,' 'teamwork,' 'practice,' and 'practitioners,' and outlines the use of Boolean operators to refine search results across various academic databases, including CINAHL, PUBMed, MEDLINE, ScienceDirect, and Cochrane Library. It also details the criteria for selecting appropriate articles, such as publication date, format, and peer review status, to ensure the inclusion of authentic and relevant information. The research aims to identify weak areas in Australian primary healthcare, explore the reasons behind these weaknesses, and recommend the implementation of inter-professional teamwork to strengthen healthcare systems, ultimately benefiting practitioners, service users, policymakers, and researchers.

Assessment-2 Search Strategy
Ten most important public health topics have been identified by the World Health
Organisation for 2019 (WHO, 2019). This assessment will translate the topic of “Weak
Primary Healthcare” into a suitable answerable research question and formulate a search
strategy to find appropriate literature.
PICO framework to develop the research question
Population (P) Practitioners in Primary health care
Intervention (I) Inter-professional teamwork
Comparison (C) Weakness
Outcome (O) Improved practice
Research Question
The weakness in the practice of Primary health care practitioners can be improved through
inter-professional teamwork.
Keywords
Keywords and alternative words will be used to search for literature to answer the research
question. Keywords will be chosen by focusing on the link between research question and
evidence-based practice. Consistency will be maintained with the chosen key words through
the entire research process.
These short and long key words were chosen for this assignment:
Primary health care
Inter-professional
Teamwork
Practice
Practitioners
These keywords were used separately and together with the Boolean operators “AND” and
“OR” to make the research focused and yield productive results so that the research can

present all the possible evidences (Karch, 2019). Several academic sources will be searched
using various search engines and databases.
For conducting this research, two search engines Google scholar and Yahoo were used
chiefly. Huge amount of reliable data on the selected research topic can be taken in full-text
form from various databases (Grewal, et al., 2016). Databases that will be used for this
purpose are CINAHL, PUBMed, MEDLINE, ScienceDirect and Cochrane Library. CINAHL
involves allied health therefore a range of issues are covered by professionals in areas allied
to healthcare which will assist in having an improved insight on the chosen research topic.
During research mainly the citation information, abstract and headings are searched and
therefore challenges can be faces to search for the subtopics such as different aspects of team
work, so "search within full text of articles” option will be used. Like CINAHL, the Nursing
and Allied Health Database also catalogues and provides the full text of nursing and allied
health professional journals, but specific journals are exclusive to this database and similarly
certain are exclusive to CINAHL, therefore, both the databases will be searched to explore
the chosen research topic completely. In this journal “Advanced” option will be chosen on
the search screen to limit the search in the desired way. ScienceDirect includes various
science and allied science journals in indexed and full text format. “Nursing and Health
Professions will be highlighted to conduct an appropriate search. In addition, "article" option
will be checked to reviews or other irrelevant data from the database. The search was
restricted based on the publication date to include only authentic and relevant articles in the
current times. Search included articles which were published within 7 years.
PDF format will be selected to make sure that images, graphs and charts which are present in
the articles are seen which are usually left out in the HTML format. Search will not only be
made for journal articles but also for other academic sources such as book sections, reports,
etc. But while researching only when scholarly article were needed the limiters were used and
the document type will be selected as journal article. This feature will help in narrowing
down the quality articles needed for the research. Peer reviewed articles were given
preference as they are evaluated by specialists in the same fields prior to giving approval for
publication (Kelly, et al., 2014).
The research topic will identify various domains of weak areas of Primary health care of
Australia. It will also identify the reasons for these weaknesses in context of practice of the
healthcare professionals. Further, the research will provide the recommendation of

implementing inter-professional teamwork to strengthen the processes and systems of
primary health care.
Who will benefit?
Practitioners in primary healthcare, service-users, policy-makers involved in decision-making
regarding the primary health care will benefit. In addition, researchers looking for further
investigation on the topic of primary health care can also benefit.
