AI Summary
This essay examines the significant security ramifications for both Pakistan and the United States following the Taliban's resurgence in Afghanistan and the concurrent rise of the Islamic State in Khorasan (ISIS-K). It begins by tracing the origins and evolution of the Taliban, highlighting the circumstances that led to their initial control of Afghanistan in 1994 and their subsequent ousting by US-led forces after the 9/11 attacks. The analysis then delves into the complex relationship between Pakistan and Afghanistan, particularly in the context of perceived sovereignty violations and the challenges of counter-terrorism efforts. The essay further explores the implications of the US withdrawal and the potential for regional powers like China and Russia to fill the resulting power vacuum. Finally, it addresses the growing threat posed by ISIS-K, examining its origins, membership, and activities in the region, and its impact on the overall security landscape, emphasizing the challenges Pakistan faces in reassessing its counter-terrorism strategies and managing its borders in the wake of these developments.

Afghanistan and Pakistan both the countries are sensitive to perceived and real
violations of sovereignty. There was no resistance in the way of Taliban for claiming
Kabul. The Afghan army was provided training by United States. A good thing for
Pakistan is that War in Afghanistan is over. AS forces have left the country and
bloodshed involved in Pakistan and Afghanistan has already come to an end. Another
good thing for Pakistan is that efforts of the country are bringing Taliban towards the
negotiating table in front of US. Offices of Pakistan have helped Taliban for
understanding importance of connecting with international community. The
interaction of Pakistan with Taliban reclaiming the political space when it is costing
the power sharing. The outlook of China for Pakistan o the future of Afghanistan was
good under the influence of Taliban led government. The impact upon regional
stability is not determined and due to this capital is likely to fill the political vacuum
that was generated by US treaty. This poised the assumption for leadership and its
role in bringing up of prospective and current initiative. The immediate
neighbourhood of Afghanistan consists of China, Russia, Central Asia countries,
which are sharing potential for strengthening the regional security as well as trade. US
withdrawal is evolving intra Afghan process in order to use the power sharing model.
The condition of al-Qaeda in Afghanistan is questionable because there were several
reports in US Taliban agreement. Pakistan requires to reassess the leverage over
Taliban because there are several statements regarding TTP (Tehrik-i-Pakistan) and
other terrorists who are functioning and Afghan soil is used for launching terrorist
attacks. The uncertain future of Afghanistan poses major challenges for Pakistan. This
