INTRODUCTION
Career is a persons progress in life through jobs, education, training, work experience.
Not only in business world but career also helps in development in avocational areas in life.
Choosing a perfect career path for future is very essential to have a satisfied and respectful
life. Selecting a accurate career can lead to many job opportunities. After researching and
being acknowledged about the career, one should found the perfect career for themself in
security sector. Basically it is a industry which manufactures and supplies the security
products and services to the world like armed security, bodyguards, security guards and many
more. But there are some skills and abilities required for pursuing a job in security industry.
The skills which this job requires are soft skills which includes communication and listening
skills, customer service, team work, and problem solving skills. (Williams, McGraw, and
Migues, 2018)
TASK
PERSONAL ANALYSIS
After identifying the career for myself which is security industry. I have to check up on myself
weather I'm eligible for this job or not, and which skills do I have and which are needed to be
developed in me. Lets do a swot analysis on myself to identify the skills in me.
Strengths
 communication skills - not only in security industry but communicating skills are
required in every working sector nowadays. While In this industry there is so much of
transfer of information by the security professionals, and it can either be verbally or in
written. For interpreting the message in its original and full form, the security
professionals should have the effective, impactful and excellent communication skills
in themselves. As I already have working experience from my past jobs, I have
developed a good communication skill in myself. ( Lin, and Raza, 2020.)
 Team work – working in a safety and security sector there are many risks, and those
risks can only be managed by a team. A individual can never achieve the
organisational goal. I have team unity in me and I believe that if a security workers
works together the task can be more effective and there will be increased productivity.
So, As I want to be a data scientist in this industry which is all about team work

because it includes collaboration and combination of different skills. I can say I have a
good team working skill in myself.
 Customer services – a individual who wants to be a security professional should have
the ability to satisfy a customer's needs, wants and problems. This skill requires
adaptability, use of positive and clear language, patience, creativity and satisfactory
decisions. The employee have to interact with their clients and communicate. As I
have a developed communication skill in myself. I can understand the issues of
clients, desires, specifications and provide them the best solutions to the problem. So,
through this I'm able to provide efficient customer services to my clients. (Wu, 2022.)
Weakness
listening skills – listening is the key to the effective communication. This is as crucial as
communicate in this industry. In order to understand the situation, one should listen it
attentively and understand it and provide further plans and ideas to improve the securitization
process. Listening is the vital role in any business organisation in order to solve customer
complaints as well as grievances of employees As I get easily distracted by the surrounding
noises, people etc. and I use to jump directly to the conclusions, also have a low concentration
power. I'm not having the perfect listening skills which is required in the job. (Tabrizi, and
Pattabiraman, 2019)
 Problem solving – every business have different problems at ever level. There are also
some problems of which no technology can not answer. for solving those issues, an
industry needs people with problem solving skills and ability to solve any problem
quickly and effectively with creative solutions. A security professional should have the
knowledge and expertise in cloud security . This is a security measure used for
securing the companies data and all the information stored in the cloud. Now most of
the companies have been implemented cybersecurity in the businesses which needs
data scientists to operate it. I think right now I do not have this skill as it needs critical
thinking power as well as out of the box solutions.
After doing the swot analysis I have figured out the skills I am good in and those on whom I
need to work on. By making a career action plan I can clarify the actions I need to take to
improve my weak points. (Ralby, 2018.)

Summing up the career action plan I have identified all the measures I have to take to develop
my listening and problem solving skills and studied all the barriers to which I will come
across while the developing process of the skills. In about 3 to 4 months I will be having all
the skills to fulfil all the job requirements. (Tsohou, and Holtkamp, 2018.)
CONCLUSION
From the above report it has been concluded that data scientist within the security
industry is the accurate job role. It is very important for an individual to study and identify
all their strong as well as weak points. In the personal analysis it has been concluded that an
individual must have strong communication, team work, customer services skills in them-self
in order to give the best to the industry apart from that there are some other weaker sections of
an individual and they have to work on to build them up and those are problem solving and
listening skills. After that this report concluded an action plan which have all the measures
needed to take to build those abilities and all the barriers which will cause a problem in
achieving those. Then described that all the evidences through which an individual can say
that they have strengthen up all their weaker points. Also they have decided a time goal in

which one should have to make themself ready for the data scientist job in the security
industry.
