INTRODUCTION
It is very important for a human being to have a proper knowledge of self as well as
others. Therefore, A human being should constantly work on improving his skills so that, he can
enhance the life of himself as well as other people who are directly or indirectly involved with
him. A constant review of current skills and a necessary improvement in them will ensure higher
growth in both personal as well as professional life of an individual. In order to enhance those
skills in a systematic way, it is quite essential for an individual to make a personal development
plan. The plan would include the current skills that an individual might be carrying and how such
skills can be improved going further (Casey, 2013). The current report will consist of a personal
development plan, which will assess the current skills of individuals, The strengths and
weaknesses of those skills etc. It will also throw some light on how those skills can be improved
and what measures can be taken for the same. The time frame of such plans depends on
individuals to individuals and may be short or long as per the requirements.

Giving or receiving Feedback: It is a very crucial skill which that an individual must carry in his
life. If a person would know skills of Giving feedbacks on time for the necessary projects and
also receive it for the tasks, he would be able to manage teams at various points of his
professional life and would help him to become a good leader in future.
Why is this core skill important? Why did I select this skill to reflect on?
It is a very vital skill that an individual must be having for the purpose of achieving success in
an organization. In a professional life a individual come across various situations in which he
will have to work in a team and also will have to manage them, to become a leader. A team can
not work properly, if he will not receive necessary Feedbacks from its members about the tasks
which are under process. If he would not carry such skills, it is inevitable that he will not be
able to take himself forward for a long haul and may end up being a mediocre person, who
would just takes orders from seniors and leaders. I have selected this skill for the purpose of
assessment and improvement because, it will make and develop my overall personality and thus

will help me gaining various advantages over period of time in my both personal as well as
professional life. I want to be a leader in future and for that purpose, I shall be aware of various
ways to handle a team by getting the feedback of their work properly and effectively, I should
also be aware of how to improve productivity of the organization by managing teams
effectively as well as efficiently in an appropriate manner.
Assessment of Skill : As far as current situation is concerned, I do carry certain skills of leading
people by receiving and giving proper feedback. and I am quite confident about my this skill
that I will be able to do well going forward. My boss in the organization assigned me task that I
will be a leader of a team which consist of 6 peoples and I would be leading them for a project.
I have been consistently working to improve my leadership skill as I want to grow in my
professional life. I am quite satisfied with the result of my Team leadership and so as my Boss
as well as my those team members whom I lead (Hayashi, Raymond and Sidnell eds., 2013).
After analysing and watching my leadership skills, the company has promoted me to become
assistant manager of marketing for the company, and this has boosted my confidence like
anything. The boss also appraised my work of collectively taking my team together by getting
feed back from them regarding the problem that they might be facing and solve them as soon as
possible.
Weaknesses: Though I have been able to gain a very good team work skills over a period of
time within the organization, but I consider myself incomplete and keep on working for
continuous improvements in the same. While Getting feedbacks from my project team I came
across various situations in which I have not been able to do well. There were conflicts under
the team on certain issues, and I have not been able to manage them well. I am working
constantly to improve the same.
Future analysis: I have decided to improve my team work skills, by various ways like
undertaking various projects as a team leader, so that my skills of leading a team and managing
them effectively will be nourished. When there are certain personal issues between some of the
people, it becomes even more difficult to manage or lead them and bring out the best kind of
results from them. I will have to devise solutions to improve my team work over period of time.
I will have to understand the characteristics of every individual and have to explain them the
task in their language so that they can perform well, give and receive feedbacks and accomplish

Assertiveness

Assertiveness: It is a very crucial skill which is needed for all round personality development of
an individual. Time is a very crucial resource and effective management of the same is essential
for development and growth of an individual.
Why is this core skill important? Why did I select this skill to reflect on?
It is very important that an individual carry certain skills which will enhance his personality and
help him in achievement of his various goals as well as objectives. Everyone has less time from
an organization to an individual and they want work to be done effectively and punctually
within the time frame allotted to them such task can be done properly if the confidence level of
the person would be high and effective. It is therefore quite crucial that an individual carry
assertiveness skills. In professional life the importance of this skills is very large. If a project is
given such project has to be completed in a time frame which is being allotted and with self
confidence (Oxford, 2016). If a person would not manage his time well he will end up making
delays in the same that would lead to a bad impression on the leaders of the organization.
Assessment of Skills: I posses a normal Assertiveness skills within me and I have to improve on
that front. I am usually a short tempered guy and can react negatively on very small issues this
gives a very bad impression of myself in the eyes of my seniors (Bernadette van Rijn, Yang and
Sanders, 2013). But when I speak in a meeting in front of people, my boss appraised me and
said that I do look confident or assertive while speaking, this boosted my confidence to a new
high.
Weakness: I miss important deadlines on certain occasions and this has been a negative for me
and my career development. I need to improve this my making my schedules in an effective
manner, so that I will be able to match my deadlines. If I will not manage the work properly that
has been assigned to me, I will feel frustrated and under-confident and this may impact my
performance negatively.
Future analysis: I have to work hard for getting a grip on my Self confidence and effective
management of the same. I will try to accomplish my task with utmost confidence and

assertiveness, so that I can last a impression among mind of other co- workers, my boss and will
eventually help me in gaining a enhanced personality.
Negotiation

Negotiation: It is one of the most important skill which an individual can possess. There are
various situations under which a person has to negotiate with external parties and represent the
organization in the dealings with them. Such kind of skill will enhance the personality of an
individual in an overall manner.
Why is this core skill important? Why did I select this skill to reflect on?
The need of such skills can arise at various point of time in the life of an individual. Starting fro
m getting a job from employer at his own terms and salary, to dealing with clients and business
partners in an effective manner. By proper negotiations skills a person can turn any
unfavourable deal into Favourable one (Van der Kolk, 2017). The reason for selection of this
skill is because I want to gain negotiation skills for development of my personality. I would be
representing my company as a assistant manager to various people and for that I must have this
skill within me. This skill will also boost my communication skills overtime and will help me to
gain a competitive advantage over my peers.
Assessment of Skill: I do possess certain negotiation skills and I have been able to showcase the
same and this has boosted my confidence and my seniors has shown faith on me and has offered
me various dealings in which I will have to negotiate even with foreign customers and that will
be very beneficial for my career growth as well as development.
Weaknesses: Sometimes I do hesitate in negotiating with people assuming that they will
understand my thinking and I would not have to explain much, but such is not the case always
and there is a lot of hard work involve in persuasion, which I should learn by time.
Future analysis: I will work hard to to gain various attributes of this skill in an effective as well
as efficient manner. If I will not negotiate with people in various dealings of the organization, it
will have a negative impact on my communication skills that I don't want and therefore I shall
represent my firm as much as possible for dealing with various stake holders and striking the
