INTRODUCTION
This assignment is based upon the evaluation of myself and my basic career aspiration. It
will enable to understand the basic requirements in my proposed sector 1. There will be a brief
evaluation of the ways by which my C.V, interview techniques and linked In profile can be of
great use in terms of achieving success in my chosen organisation.
Know yourself
There are various theories with the help of which an individual can develop and advance
his/her objective of career. Among all available theories, the best one is Trait and Factor theory.
This theory holds the idea where a person's abilities must be suited with their job profile. A
person can perform the best when they are working in such job profile which suits with their
skills and abilities. I can use this given theory in order to understand the requirements of an
individual's job.
Another theory is Krumboltz's approach. This basically deals with the idea where an
individual's career development may get affected by the environmental conditions. This concept
mainly relies on social learning theory and classical behaviourism. I consider this theory because
it will be helpful in building up my career in my preferred area of interest. There are four factors
that are helpful in the development of career. Genetic endowment, environmental conditions,
learning experiences and task approach skills. Genetic endowment includes race, disabilities,
sex and talents. Environmental conditions might include job opportunities, nature of training
opportunities and social policies (labour laws, technological development, union rules). Learning
experiences are made up of instrumental, associative and vicarious. At last, task approach skills
will include standards, mental sets and working habits.
I want to make my career in tour management. It is important to choose a career in which
future development can be seen and also, it should match with my skills and abilities. I can see
my career in tout management because I always love to travel and making people aware about
different places. .

Know your sector
After analysing my core interest, skills and abilities, next step is to know this sector of
tourism. It is good that I have interest in tour management but in order to get a job in this field, I
also need to have professional degrees. It ensures that I have completed the usual academic
procedure and thus can be apply for the desired post. Education must be done from a reliable and
authentic college. I have to read the subjects like archaeology history, education and business
with language, geography, modern languages and travel studies.
Another basic requirement of my profession may include any kind of certificates in tour
management. This will be more helpful in making availability of the job in the field of tour
management. I have to be well-aware with my roles and responsibilities which may include
helping the travellers with their passport and immigration issues, accommodation, food
availability, having knowledge about different countries and culture, travel arrangements, taking
feedback from travellers and many more.
Let them know you
This may include the job description of tour manager as this is my preferred area of
interest. It is a description of my duties and responsibilities associated with the job 2. There are
many other roles involved in this profession of tour manager such as having concern about all the
people who are going for the purpose of travelling, availability of passports, transportation
system, accommodation and food.
On the basis of above mentioned knowledge, my resume get selected for an interview and
given below is the interview process:
Task- Company asked me to prepare all my academic records, professional credentials
and all other supportive material. This was the foremost task given by company 3. They have
given some criteria on the basis of which they will check candidate's skills and potency. Thus, I
have give preferences to all their instructions.
Action- In order to respond to the task that has been assigned by the company before
entering into the organisation, I have to prepare my academic records and other presentation stuff

in order to shine among all the candidates at the interview spot. I also have to be very well aware
about the details of my field. This will enhance my learning aspect and thus, I would be able to
answer interviewer in the most confident manner.
Result- It can be concluded that the hiring company was very impressed with my
behaviour and performance in the interview process 4. They asked me all the aspects of tour
management and with my strong learning and education, I answered them correctly.
On the basis of this report, it can be concluded that knowing yourself is very important in
order to choose the best career. There are many theories and concepts developed like trait and
factor theory, Krumboltz's and many more with the help of which I would be able to find my
future career development. I need to understand that it is essential to first know the area of
interest, skills and potential. This will help me to identify an ideal job. This will further convey
to take a degree of graduation in the preferred field. This will cultivate my knowledge in the area
I want to choose as my career.
It is important to know my job profile. This may includes job descriptions. All the duties,
roles and responsibilities are a part of job description 5. There is also a proper procedure that is
followed by the company in order to conduct the interview process. I need to consider each
factor with the help of which I would be able to get a job in my own field of interest. Making
C.V, updating Linked In profile and current professional development programs are a part of
employment skills. This is the reason, it is important for me to understand each and every aspects
of it. This will be beneficial for me in terms of getting the best job as per my area of interest. In
will become more confident and presentable in front of recruiter by having a great record of my
professional skills.
