INTRODUCTION
I am a student studying in higher education and planning to start my professional career
as soon as possible. Core skills are those abilities and skills which are required by the individual
to develop their personal and professional life. This skills can help me to find my dream job and
start my my professional career well. These skills can also help me to enhance my personality
within the society. The following report will cover for of the core skills which I have already
developed earlier and those skills which I need to develop for my better future.
MAIN BODY
Skills that I am competent in
Skill 1- Leadership skill
This is the skill which defines the ability and capability of individuals to influence them
toward a common idea and concepts and make them fell beneficial to achieve a common goal
(Hughes, 2018). I have developed this skill well at my last academic year. This skill is important
for me for my upcoming professional life where I targeted to become manager to manage a huge
team within a high reputed company. I like to work within a team and due to my effective ability
to gain this skill teachers always choose me to become group leader of my group for the
academic projects and assignments. Here, I supposed to help my group members well to define
the task of each project and what they need to do and how they can complete their task on time.
This is how I developed my leadership skill. Sometimes my teachers correct me somewhere and
I did not ignore the suggestions and grab it as my improvement.
Skill 2- Team working skill
This is the skill which defined the ability of an individual to work within a team to
achieve a common goal (Andrade and Zeigner, 2021). Team working skill is important because it
enable the team to share their ideas and responsibilities effectively. This is also important to
reduce the stress of work burden by distributing it to a team and compete it well on time. I have
learned this skill during my academic years where teachers gave us group assignments and
projects to complete. I supposed to make sure that each group member will have a clear idea that
what he/she is going to contribute for the project completing. I have learned that the task should
be divided according to expertise of group members. For example, the student who is effective at
research skill should be assign task for marketing research.

Skill 3- Decision making skill
Decision making skill is that skill which shows the ability and efficiency of an individual
to choose best option from various alternatives to mitigate the given issue in a best way (Cokely
and et. al., 2018). This skill is one of the most important skill for me to because I can face many
issues at my professional as well as personal life and only this skill will help me to mitigate all
my issues effectively and develop my ability and live stress free. I have developed this skill by
communicating my teacher and participating in class activities where teachers provide us a
business problem and we are supposed to provide a solution to each problem. Than teacher make
us correct that whether we made the right decision or not related to situation.
Skills that need to improve
Skill 1- Communication skill
This is the skill which shows the ability of an individual to share their ideas and concepts
to others openly. It shows the effectiveness for interacting with others in a good manner (Aslan,
2021). This skill is one of the most important skill because it help me to attract other people
toward my idea and influence them to pay attention appropriately for the information and idea I
want to convey them. I need to improve this skill and for this I will interact with more people
surround me and share my point of view about current global affairs. I would also like to observe
other people's style and ability to share their information and idea to grab the one which I feel
effective. I can also supposed to read English newspaper daily for enhancing my English reading
and understanding power which is essential in effective communication skill.
Skill 2- Time management skill
Time management skill is one of the effective skill which help a individual to learn the
ways and techniques to complete all given task on time (Huu, 2018). This also one of the most
important skill for me because it helps to complete all my task on time and reduce my work
burden as well as working stress. I can develop this skill by making a time table and follow it
strictly which mention all the task which I need to complete and a given time period. I need to
follow it strictly and make sure that the time table will be followed properly. Secondly, I can also
prepare a priority list which contain all those tasks from top to bottom in a ascending order
which I supposed to complete. For example, the task which is supposed to complete first due to
its importance I will mention it on the top and try to follow the list effectively to complete all
important task on time.

Skill 3- Problem solving skill
This skill will enhance to understand the problem and evaluate it properly to find out the
correct decision to mitigate the problem (Amalia, Sukestiyarno and Cahyono, 2021). This skill
will help me to understand the problem well and analyse why it occur and how to mitigate it
effectively so that the same issue will not occur again in my life. This skill can be learned while
solving different case studies related to corporate sector. The business case studies are related to
a given problem and few questions at the bottom of the case study. Hence, I supposed to do at
least 2-3 case studies per day and try to solve the questions given below which is related to
mitigate the given issue in the case. Next day I will let my answers checked by my teacher and
ask her that whether I have given a appropriate solution to the given problem or not related to
case. Her suggestions will make me correct if I will be wrong and her appreciations will motivate
me to enhance this skill.
CONCLUSION
From the above information it is concluded that learning different kinds of skills will help
a individual to develop their professional career. Skills like communication skill, time
management skill, leadership skill and many others are essential to learn for better future and to
enhance the personality in front of others. Taking corrective actions to improve the skills is
effective way to learn them.
