Awareness
According to the research of Pollock et al. (2016) it can be argued that diversity is a
current trend that individuals can develop in course of their professional and personal life.
Therefore, it is pertinent to work on the diversity management practice and understand the real
motive of diversification in business. As far as my understanding about awareness is concerned, I
have a positive idea about the value of diversity and I feel diversity makes us happy and
resourceful. Moreover, I am also well aware of self-concept and my responsibility in the society.
However, it is not enough to perceive a clear awareness regarding the society and the concept of
diversity. Therefore, it is very important for me to carry out some improvements regarding the
concept of diversity and my association with the paradigm of diversity.
Knowledge
As far as my knowledge is concerned, I can say I accept my mistakes and believe that all
those mistakes are identified as a lesson for me to prepare myself for the next challenges. As a
matter of fact, I feel it is effective to develop my personal abilities and skills so that I can
perform well even in dire situations. However, there are some gaps in my knowledge as I do not
take any pro-active measures for my own development. In addition to this, my knowledge
regarding certain cultural groups is also a major obstacle to personal development. Therefore, it
requires proper strategy to improve my knowledge regarding diversity.

One of my strengths is to interact with people from different culture and respect their
beliefs and thoughts so that they can feel a positive attitude from my side. However, I have to
improve my understanding and skills toward issues like racism or discrimination. It is important
to note that I can intervene and protest when seeing others behaving in a discriminatory manner.
However, it is not considered to be a proper solution as I am not providing any solution in such
situation. Therefore, it is important for me to upgrade my skills so that I can advise or suggest
any idea to resolve discriminatory behaviour.
Strategies to resolve the problems

Strategy 1
For developing my knowledge and understanding related to diversity in society and
workplace it is important for me to seek help from emotional intelligence. According to the
research of Shane and Heckhausen (2016) it can be defined that emotional intelligence is the
ability to understand and manage own emotions so that it will help to communicate with others
positively. As a result of that the process can deliver a better opportunity to understand the
beliefs and practices of people from different culture. In response to this, it can be stated that
emotional intelligence will help me to procure an in-depth understanding of different culture.
Strategy 2
It is essential for me to have a positive and fruitful communication with others and in response to

success in personal and professional life. Henceforth, I would like to follow the Rational choice
decision making process in order to create a sharp distinction between the personal values and
the values of other people and harness both the views so that it can foster better relationship with
other people. Ermasova, Wagner and Nguyen (2017) advocated that the presence of rationality in
decision making will help people to understand the efficacy of the decision and its further
consequences. Moreover, Smaldino et al. (2019) found out that the rational choice decision
making process is very effective while managing conversation with people from different
culture. In response to this, it can be stated that it will help me to build up strong knowledge
regarding the diverse culture and practice.

For developing my knowledge, it is also important to facilitate the General adaptation
syndrome. The strategy will help me to adapt with new culture and understanding and facilitate
enough insights into the organisational culture and practice.
