Reflective Journal
This reflective journal is focused on producing an individual reflection on the procedure of
effectively working in the group. In this context, based on (Hickson, 2011), I will narrate my
experiences related to the organization of my group in order to process decisions effectively.
Here, I would like to mention my task or responsibility in the group, which was preparing
part of the presentation on the MGT3 Leadership module.
First of all, while working in this module I learned a lot about self-awareness by knowing
myself better. To me, being aware of our own conditions and attributes is important thing for
career development. During the self-awareness module, I got an opportunity to know my
strengths, weaknesses, personality, emotions, and perceptions about things (Businessballs,
2019). Besides, I learned about double-loop learning methodology which was initially given
by Donald Schon and Chris Argyris during the 1970s. I realized that this learning theory is
the best way to develop self-awareness for self-growth.
I worked actively for completing the leadership module with my group members, I identified
the major difference between single-loop and double-loop learning theories. For instance, an
individual who is pursuing double-loop learning will not only keep it in his or her mind but
also will take it as a wakeup call as well as investigate further for improvement (Nohria &
Khurana, 2010).
Majorly, based on (Businessballs, 2019)I worked on exploring the importance of self-
awareness, while concluding the results of our study on self-awareness. I personally felt that
awareness about one’s weaknesses, allows them to work with the others having differing
strengths to them. Hence, my role in the group was significant as I helped people to identify
the importance of self-awareness.
Apart from this, I learned that lack of self-awareness is always dangerous as it can alienate
others by misunderstanding the effect of your actions on them. My observation about self-
awareness throughout the leadership module suggests that self-awareness always motivates
people by winning trust. In this context, I studied and thereby realized that self-awareness
wins trust with the help of double-loop learning. In addition, I made my group members learn
that self-awareness enables co-ordination, co-operation as well as the optimal allocation of
resources in this digital era.

In whole, my actions are taken while doing this assignment with my group resulted in
positive way as I took initiatives for making my group perform in the best way. The
outcomes of this leadership module allowed me to make further reflections as follows:
In the future, I can become a great leader
In the future, I will participate as well as lead my team whenever possible by putting
my best efforts
