Student success for higher learning: Procrastination
This reflective paper is containing a critical reflection on the material and chapters I
have read so far throughout the term. To do so, based on (Johns, 2014), I will include some
specific topics from the chapters I have studied in the term into which my interest got
developed.
What information was new?
In this context, I have learned many things related to a student’s success for his or her
higher learning. I realized that I could assess a lot of new info and knowledge in relation to
setting goals, self-care, self-evaluation, and procrastination. Besides, I could also self-
evaluate and self-care my own personality with the help of the concepts learned all across the
term.
What impressed/intrigued you most about the chapter or concept you have
selected
I got impressed with the concept of handling procrastination with the help of self-care
and effective time management.
Was there anything about this chapter or concepts that you already knew?
If so, explain.
Based on (Knott, 2010), I also learned how one can stop procrastinating in the context
of mental illness and many more critical situations. As per my evolved opinion,
procrastination is the action of postponing something while using delaying tactics.
Information being most applicable for
personally/professionally/academically applied
However, I already knew that for some individuals, procrastination is a symbol of
psychological disorders. Therefore, I got a huge interest in this topic as it has been associated
with various negative associations like low self-esteem, depression, irrational behaviour,
neurological disorders, and anxiety as well.

Any other information you wish to include
In this way, by studying more about procrastination and self-care an individual can
improve their personality and hence professional life.
When I was learning in the term and module, I observed that almost all of the topics
and contents were applicable to my personal and professional learning (Johns, 2014).
