INTRODUCTION
Preparing for success is a self development activity in which an individual nurture
respective skills either to perform better academically or to move upwards in career and
professional position (Vincent and Maxwell, 2016). Personal and professional development is
must in a life span of a person rendering them to perform better and move further in their career
receive personal satisfaction as well. Current report holds a reflective summary over self
performance in the group task in which a marketing presentation is presented in class as
assignment. Moreover, a Personal development plan is created for improving the lacking skills
and competences.
MAIN BODY
TASK 1
Reflective statement over self performance in the group presentation.
A presentation is team task in which respective members have their specific jobs to
perform in order to make the presentation with all evidenced based information and data in order
to render the correct knowledge to the listeners. This is a reflective statement over my
performance in the team task of developing and presenting a presentation in class amongst others
and in front of the professor. I was the speaker of the team and holds the responsibility of
speaking and addressing the audience with the finds and information gathered on our respective
topic or subject area.
In the group we all were five member including me where two of us were gathering all
the data and conducting research. One member of the team was analysing the informing and
sorting it for finding and rendering the most relevant evidenced based information. One of our
fellow student and team member was compiling all the data gathered and developing a attractive
and informative presentation. And lastly I, was responsible for preparing for the presentation as I
was the speaker of the group. I voluntarily with my will opt for being the speaker and presenting
the presentation in front of the class.
In our team all of us were working together and collaboratively, everyone took initiative
for the assignment and for making the presentation best from other groups in the class. I have
learnt numerous lessons and learning with this project and specially while working in the team as
one of the member. From the group activity first and foremost learning which is got was the

importance of team work and collaboration in activities we perform. Every group turns to be
effective team when the goals are achieved in time and the ultimate objectives is contributed
through it. Moreover, self-motivation also plays vital role in rendering the best performance in
accordance to my analysis and learning.
Moving further, there were few interesting aspects also attached with this group activity
which is understood and which I think is important to for me to practice in future as well in other
assignments with same of new team mates. This new interesting aspect is getting to know each
other and learn from skills and experiences of others. It is very effectual that once team members
are effectively communicating with one another and working together it is very beneficial that
we all are learning something new form each other. I have received an understanding that in
future if I am working in a team that means I will be getting to learn new knowledge and develop
better understandings about respective areas in which is lack information or I should develop
further abilities to grasp and match with others in order to be competitive.
How might you use the new information?
Form the presentation and the group activity I have developed numerous new skills and
information. These are helpful for me in my present as well as future at professional level which
will make me employable. The first knowledge which is receive is of keeping the descriptive
speech small which will keep the audience engaged in the presentation and do not bore them and
make them lose connection and attentions. There were other things as well which confused me
and which made me bit nervous at the time of presenting the information in the class. My other
fellow classmates specially those who were sitting at back were very distracted and were
interacting with one another rather then listening to me. One reason behind was my speech being
very descriptive and detailed which made them bored. Also, I think at few moment I was lacking
behind and the slides were on auto play which caused chaos and renders litter understanding to
few students.
In future I have to make sure of some things which can help us a team and me on
personal level to be better from others. First and foremost is I have to talk on point and clear
while presenting the presentation removing all extra information which is diverting the
concentration of audience form the topic. Also, our team lack coordination which resulted in
long breaks in slides where it did not required and sometimes slides on the screen and what is
was speaking over were two different aspects.

Although, the whole experience of mine of working on this assignment with the whole
team of my classmates was very informative and beneficial for me and all the other members of

competencies and abilities to be practised and developed by the individuals while working

. From the above discussion and evaluation in the reflective statement numerous academic and
professional areas are identified which required further development and skill enhancement. All
those areas are identified and elaborated below in the section:
Communication Skills- Upfront is communication skills, that is the power of interacting
with one another and making people understand the viewpoints by properly sharing
information with clarity. Effective communication result in better understanding amongst
team members and completing task in time. Effectively communication also helps people
to develop relationships with one another that is useful in brining collaboration and
cooperation in teams and all respective tasks performed.
Conflict Management Ability- The next area which needs to be developed further in
order to keep the team running properly and efficiently is conflicts management and
problem-solving. All the units in the team have to work together keeping their personal
agendas aside or aligning them with the common goal of the group. In case of conflicts
and effective relationships and communication will enable people to work together by
understanding each others perspectives and view points (Howe and Lisi, 2018).
Organising and Planning Skills- In order to work properly every team have to first
develop plans and organise activities in accordance with the skills and abilities of team
members. Planning and organising includes developing aims, assigning tasks and
allocating resources. This is the area which needs to be improved and better plans and
organising of team tasks have to be developed in order to make sure the efficiency and
team of my classmates was very informative and beneficial for me and all the other members of
the team as we all worked together and learnt from each others experiences and abilities. Still
