INTRODUCTION
The file is about personal development and self learning of skills to be ready for the
employability skills. The file also describes social and ethical responsibility learning by an
individual.
Summary on learning for improvement in employability skills
The skills which I have developed in the project workshops have been foremost communication
which has been developed by giving presentations and preparation of the same. The
communication with team members to make a presentation which is acceptable in content as well
as impressive in communication. The making of the presentation has helped achieve team skills
as we had to discuss how the presentation had to be subdivided. The coordination we developed
while making presentation was an important learning for me, along side cooperation among team
members was another skill which was learnt. Presentation taught how to speak confidently and
confidence can come when we have hold on the content. The SWOT analysis has helped me
realise strengths and weaknesses of self. It has laid a benchmark for me to improve further on my
strengths and make them according to the employment skills required. The weaknesses of mine
have emphasised on the points which I need to improve upon. The points like I have to work on
being more assertive will help in both personal as well as professional fronts. The opportunities
which are before me currently is to participate in public speaking events and hone up skills to
become marketing manager. The threats present before me are to upgrade my technical skills and
this will be done by enrolling in courses which can increase technical knowledge. The CV
designed by myself has adequately justified my academic skills and experience which will add to
my employability chances. The cover letter designed also shows the employability approach
taken by me. Through the mini project workshops, I have learnt to assemble the skills needed to
improve and skills which require to be worked on. Further, Belbin theory has laid emphasis on
team building and defining of roles which I think has given me an insight of how I can take up
the role as a coordinator. The interview preparation has provided me an insight in the questions
which have been prepared according to the employability skills which has helped me know
myself better. An assessment of employability skills and know how of how to achieve them have
made me focus on these goals which have helped in the preparation of them to achieve and

inculcate those qualities. Also, the importance of presentation has helped me develop better team
skills and confidence in self to improve on my public speaking skills.
Time management
Time management is essential as it helps in scheduling of events and planning in advance for
them. The tool helps in management of assignments to be completed as per deadlines. The
person who can effectively manage time will be able to manage chores in organisation and it will
help being a skill required for an effective leader.
Note taking has been helpful in reminder of events about when to attend the task or a meeting.
Apart from this, note taking has been useful in remembrance of lectures.

SWOT Analysis has helped me in realising myself as a person, exploring the opportunities lying

I think the role of coordinator will be befitting me. I like to work with the team and like to check
on the progress every individual is making to the team. I would like to take as well give inputs to
the team members, I would like to check on the progress each team member is making and
whether they are facing any problem in their part of the project. I have always encouraged other
team members to give their best and given suggestions where as an audience, I could think of
giving my inputs.

Monster.com is a website useful for job search. It provides information of a number of jobs
pertaining to different categories. It also provides jobs as per location, skills and relevant
educational skills and experience. It provides filter in search of jobs and helps to search for jobs
which are relevant as per skills and experience.

country or world and helps connecting with them to increase job connections. It is basically a job
networking site which also helps in connecting with seniors in an organisation.
I use linkedin because it provides job search facilities along with connecting with other people
who are professionals. The functionality which one has over the other is that linkedin provides a
chance of increasing of connections and also help with meeting of friends. Also it helps to
connect with seniors of an organisation without charging of fees.
Academic Writing
I have done academic writing on retail management. The topic concerns with my aim of
becoming a marketing manager. I have understood the significance of this part in marketing of
how organisations run with getting operational costs under control, the management of
employees, keeping the store movement in function, laying down of merchandise etc.
I have emphasised in my academic writing that there has to be an efficient logistic and
supply chain management system for the retail chain. There has to be management of inventory
at regular intervals. I have laid stress on the value of brand management and also the functioning
of HR in role deployment.

Question: What are your strengths?
Answer: My strengths are communication skills where I can present my views in a clear and
precise way. I can coordinate well within a team and cooperate with each other to make the team
successfully reach the work completion. I am vocal within team members and provide my inputs
to the team. I think my public speaking skills would be suitable for the job.
Question: What are your weaknesses?
Answer: The weaknesses of mine are I have to be more assertive in my dealings with people.
People can take undue advantage of the situation and there has to be assertiveness in my
opinions. Secondly, I think rehearsals on my part for any project is also necessary to complete
my pre-preparations beforehand.

Answer: I think to increase my assertiveness I will have to interact more with my seniors and
learn from their experiences. This will help me to be more firm in my view of opinion. Also, I
think that on the part of rehearsals I can do a pre-planning with a little more of alertness and the
scheduling will help me overcome this weakness too.
Question: What are your expectations from the organisation?
Answer: I expect that I would be given a platform where I can develop my public speaking skills
even more. I can get a chance to use my skills for the betterment of the organisation as well as
culminate new technical skills which I think I should have an add-on in my professional growth.
Employability skills
The six skills which I think important for employability are:
a) Communication: For any job, the foremost skill required is to communicate one's thoughts
and express oneself in front of the team or the client as per the requirement. They are also
necessary where one has to lead in the roles for a team.

b) Teamwork: An employee should have appropriate qualities of cooperation, assertiveness,
time management and coordination to perform in a team. An employee who puts team before
own priorities can be considered as one efficient in team work (Di Gregorio and et.al., 2019).
c) Self-management: One who can manage own work as well as emotions is the right candidate
for a job. Basically, a person with this quality will not only be able to adjust in anew
environment but also help others adjust. Such a person will be effective in time management and
will be able to finish work as per deadlines.
d) Technical expertise: A person having knowledge of technical skills will be able to deal with
new technologies being operated and will have problem solving skills. Such a person will be an
asset for the organisation and will find high employability if one gets to learn about different
software and programming languages.
e) Learning approach: A candidate has to keep a learning approach as the candidate will need
to keep sharpening his skills in order to stay and compete in the job environment. The candidate
has to keep the mind open to keep learning new skills (Di Gregorio and et.al., 2019).
f) Challenges to be accepted: The candidate has to accept challenges which come up in the
environment of organisation as people have to adjust in an environment where they have to meet
deadlines and work hard to meet the targets.
Referencing
Referencing is important as it authenticates the work done by an individual about the sources
used. It helps remove plagiarism in the essay or work done and is also used to cite sources which
have been taken. It helps user to navigate the sources which have been referred and take them
directly to the content (Redeker, Kessler and Kipper, 2019).

Reflective log
The group presentation was an effort of our team and the results were appreciating. We were
given a topic on factoring which is a type of lending system. Although, the region given to me
was North America and through research it showed asset based lending was prevalent there. I
was a little apprehensive but remained confident in my research. All of us presented our topics
well. We had practised on our parts and discussed the content which made it go well. In future, I
would like to rehearse more with my team mates to make the presentation even better.

Summary
The project workshop activities have added to my social ethics and responsibility in a way that
the work at the organisation can be linked up in a certain manner for future. The organisation has
a structure of team work and before that a project is assigned to the team workshops are done.
Through the project workshop , it became evident to myself that an organisational framework
has to have social ethics and responsibility in order to make teamwork a success. The project
workshop is basically a meeting where the idea of business is discussed with the client and a
team has to be formed which can take the project work towards success and the team can only
succeed if it has been formed with the right pool of talent requires to get the task done (Skirpan
and et.al., 2018). The business meeting with the client dawned on the fact that there are many
people who want to bring an eco-friendly change through their business ideas. These ideas are
beneficial for the society as well as profitable for the business. The client wanted to make eco-
friendly ways of using fabrics which could minimize the waste and pollution production. The
fabric usage was keeping in mind the garments business emission of carbons. The client stressed
on the fact that despite taking up time initially to set up the process, it would gather momentum
in the upcoming period of time. I could gather my first lesson of taking up of social
responsibility in corporate. Secondly, came the task of assigning roles and responsibilities within
the team. This comprised of an honest approach where the work was divided according to skills
and not on basis of old or new employees. This was a learning in which there was no
differentiation done in assigning of responsibilities (Aicardi, Reinsborough and Rose, 2018).
This helped me lay focus on ethical approach within the team. The social responsibilities within
the team were that people in the team had to meet each other, understand the objectives of the
business, their roles understood and discussion of planning of how to go through the task. In the
meeting planning section is a sign of social responsibility for business idea as this involves
people sitting down together in a team and discussion on creative ideas to make the start even
better. The ethical responsibility of maintaining the costs within the client's budget to cut down
on irrelevant costs and supplying return to client as well as the business also is planned in the
workshop. Thus, it gives an insight into how a project shapes up delving on many aspects kept
under consideration.
