Introduction
The ability or capability to listen is considered as a significant element to good or effective
communication skills (Haroon et al. 2018). Moreover, individual in businesses have to realize
the goals and missions of their organizations or what their accountabilities are, which begins
with good or effective listening skills. Moreover, communication refers to like the process
and procedure of sharing feelings, thoughts and information. The communication skills are of
three main types which include visual communication; NonVerbal Cues based Speak
Volumes and Verbal Communication. As well as Correctness, Clearness, Courtesy,
Concreteness, Consideration, Conciseness and Completeness are regarded as seven main
characteristics or features of effective communication. This project will discuss the skills of
effective communication which is applicable to both professional and academic contexts. In
addition in this project, I have identified my own professional and academic developmental
needs for creating an appropriate action plan.

LO1. Demonstrate effective communication skills, applicable to academic
and professional contexts.
The skills of effective communication are applicable to both professional and academic
contexts (Kwiatkowski, 2019). In everyday life, communication plays an essential role or it is
extensively used in various different professions. In addition, communication refers to as a
process of sharing information amongst two peoples- "the sender or the receiver". Two major
modes are there through which I can convey information which includes non –verbal and
verbal or I have to deliver the information in such a way which is relevant, fluent and
understandable to a certain audience. Besides these, good communicator speaks well as well
as effective or good communicators have that ability to deliver precise and clear knowledge.
Effective or good communication is associated with listening and speaking. Moreover, Non-
verbal used in conjunctions with verbal communications or refers to gestures, facial
expressions, body language and visual aids. These methods are stronger or powerful as
listening and talking as well as it is specifically useful for me or for those learners who face
difficulties in recognizing the vocal or spoken language (Moore et al. 2018). Apart from
these, 7C’s which are included under effective communication are Correctness, Courtesy,
Clarity, Consideration, conciseness and completeness. The 7C’s are important in achieving
success in both academic and professional contexts.
Communication Skills:
For attainting triumphant future career, communication skills are significant for me. This
makes managing skills and expressive skills which is also essential for me. Moreover, it is
essential for me to develop good skills in communications in relationships. In this
competitive era, most of the businesses related issues are sought with the help of some
educated individuals. Moreover, listening carefully, writing and reading are the most
significant communications skills which are very much essential for me. Communication
skills are required for me or for other students in academic contexts to:
Write long writing based assignments, essays and term papers with clarity.
Present an appropriate class project effectively in front of others.
Understand or read test questions and class assignments effectively
Collaborate with or interact with the other students, school administrators and
professors effectively.

Our thoughts and communication skills are focusing towards the language and speaking skills
which are academically related or mostly used or used in our private or personal lives. As
well as we are ignoring its significance and value in our particular profession or at our
workplaces. It is essential for us to make good communication with our external or internal
customers, seniors, subordinates and peers which helps in making our communications skills
effective.
Interpersonal based communication skills:
If we want to get success at developing strong interpersonal relationships than effective
communication is must be required. Moreover, effective communication refers to as a
valuable asset which inspires an individual to achieve success. The interpersonal skills assist
an individual to communicate at both personal as well as business levels(Pearlman and Chou,
2019). These skills are useful in developing bonds or helps employees in finding common
ground.
Written skills:
The latter, communication loop and appropriate follow-ups are included in the good or
appropriate written skills and these are considered as a valuable or effective asset or tool in
the competitive world of tangled electronic mail. Besides these, this particular skill plays a
major role in any communication-based training module.
Most of the modern organizations and businesses are dependent on social media,
presentations and email communication. If the employees have good written skills than he or
she can easily write accurate or clear emails which is very essential for them in achieving
business goals. It is significant for us to use a proper tone otherwise we can ruin a good or
appropriate business association with the potential customers (Foronda, MacWilliams and
McArthur, 2016).
I have learnt that effective or appropriate communication skills are essential in both
professional and academic contexts. As well as I understand that effective
communications are linked with both listening and speaking. Moreover, I also learnt
about the significance of interpersonal communication skills or written skills.

relationships with other individuals. Thus, we cannot underestimate the significance
of effective communication.
I can use this information in achieving future goals. In my academic also this will
helps me in making a good student (Haris et al. 2019).
I am still confused about written skills and interpersonal communication skills. Thus,
by understanding these specific concepts I just want to develop both interpersonal
communication skills and written skills in me.

Global Awareness:
Global awareness refers to as conceptual based learning which helps a person to gain relevant
knowledge about environmental or social, economic, ethical, political and cultural issues
which are rotating around the global world (Evans et al. 2015). In schools also the teacher
can teach about tolerance and diversity, the responsibility of each individual towards global
society and an understanding of different cultures. Moreover, global awareness is considered
as the understandings of how political, economic, cultural, social and environmental factors
influence the world. Apart from these, cultural awareness demonstrates the understandings of
other individual’s perceptions, beliefs and cultural values.
By three creative ways, the teacher can teach about Global Awareness to their students:
explore some new places
The teachers can encourage their students by learning more about ecotourism. They can
conduct their students with tourism bureaus and companies across the global world. The
teachers can allow their students to collect some background information about these
organizations. The teachers can use collaboration tools and Google Drive for getting the
students brainstorming or creating together.
Connect with some individuals
With the help of Skype, the students in the classrooms can easily make a good connection
with others across the world. By using Mystery Skype, the students can figure out where
other different schools are located. Moreover, in different classrooms, Skype has become an

Besides these, Disability awareness helps the students in becoming better citizens.

the employees in managing their weaknesses and strengths within the organization (Lee et al.
2019). The four main indicators of self-awareness are Confidence, Humility, Honesty and
