INTRODUCTION
In order to remain in the competition in today's era, it is very important for individual to
conduct an analysis of self development. This will help in identifying the strength and weakness
of an individual person in order to done any activity. With the help of self development an
individual will be able to perform their work in an effective manner. The present report consist
of a reflection statement of an individual person who is performing a group presentation so that
they can improve their learnings in order to perform their responsibility in an effective manner
(Kao and et. al., 2016). In addition to this, it includes various areas where further improvement is
required so that positive results will be developed. At last, an action plan is developed which
help in improving all the lacked skills and knowledge within specific period of time.
MAIN BODY
Reflective Statement
At the time of conducting group presentation during my coursework I have gone through
various phases which supported me developing my skills and enhancing my learning capability
in effective manner. Apart from this, the overall experience have allowed me in knowing about
my weak areas that is required to be developed by me quickly so that I can improvise my work
and attain success in the near future in rightful manner. At the time of developing presentation I
got know that group presentation is very important for every individual whether he/she belongs
to school, college or working in any of the company at work. Preparation of effective group
presentation requires highly effective skill like information delivery skill, communication skill
especially verbal, leadership skill, storytelling, self awareness, selling/persuasion, emotional
management, interpersonal relationship, stress management, listening, network skill,
adaptability, visual and written communication, facilitating and many others. Collaboration of all
these skills supports an individual in effectively indulging into group presentation and delivering
all decided information in friction of customers in rightful manner. From my own experience I
have identified that among all the skills I am good at few skills which are determined as my core
strengths and on the other I have also identified that at few skills I am not having good command
which can be seen as my core weak skills that is required to be developed by me for enhancing
chances of growth in the near future.

Conducting group presentation have made me learnt several thing as while performing
this I got opportunity to enhance my communication and interaction with the team member for
discussing the topic and way of presenting this in front of audience. This regular based
communication have resulted in development of strong relationship with the team members.
Along with this, it has also developed my communication skill as well because I am indulging
into conversation with the people at regular basis that is directly improving my communication
skill as well because I am getting opportunity to express my viewpoint in front of team members
in lucrative manner. This conversation among team members have also supported all of us to
share their own knowledge area and information with one another. This directly puts major
proportion of contribution in the development of good informative presentation and also supports
in delivering same information in right way. Apart from this, it can be said that some of the
experiences associated to the same were not at all good but still they have supported in
developing my own knowledge and skills in effective way. With reference to my own experience
of conducting group presentation, I have problem related to team members, While conducting
presentation, there were many situations conflicts raised within the team. This normally initiated
because of different cultural background of the group members. It can be said that occurrence of
conflicts at workplace have slowed down working capabilities of team members and also
because of conflicts these team members were not interacting with one another in positive way.
The overall impact of this could be seen at the time of delivering presentation in front of the
audience. At the same time, I have analysed that cultural difference has also made things much
more interesting as all involved got opportunity to know about different cultural values and
interesting facts about culture which directly results in the improvement of their skills as well as
their working pattern too.
From my self evaluation, I got know to that my strong skills which supports in
developing and delivering effective group presentation includes effectively understanding, story
telling, communication, leadership, interpersonal relationship, listening, self awareness, humour,
adaptability etc. while on the contrary, it has also been determined by me that my core weak
skills which interrupts me developing and delivering good group presentation are usage of non
meaningful and distractive gestures, lack of problem solving skill, ineffective time management,
low confidence, networking, presentation development etc. In order to develop these weak areas,
it is important for me put some additional efforts in the weaker section so that I can easily

improvise my lacking skill. Along with this, at the same time it is essential for me to polish my
strength area too for the motive of delivering high quality of group presentation to the audience.
In addition to this, it can also be said that by developing new skill, information and
knowledge it would be easier for to conduct advance presentations in the near future as the
requirement. Along with this, it would be easier for me to develop good presentation with
meaningful information within the provided time frame in effective manner. Also, development
of new skills also supports me in developing understanding over the behaviour of team members
that directly provides support to me in resolving problems with them.
After going through the whole process of skill, knowledge and information development
I have learnt many things but at the same time I got confused due to some situation. One of my
experience while developing knowledge and skill on new thing is that I got confused while
resolving conflicts at workplace because it was difficult for me to make sure that all cultural
values of people get satisfied at the end of the discussion. But, in actuality when I started
communicating to the all related people I was not able to decide that whether this persons
cultural values are beneficial for group presentation concept or not. As a result, it was not
possible for me to resolve the same issue in the timely manner. In order to overcome this, I have
decided to over develop effective common guidelines for whole learning process so that no
confusion takes place in the near future. The overall experience of mine was good as I am happy
after developing my skills, knowledge and abilities I will be able to grab maximum opportunities
in the near future and attain success.
Areas to be developed
It has also been analysed that there are ample numbers of skills which need to be
developed by an individual person so that all the work will be performed in an appropriate
manner (Mazutis and Slawinski, 2015). For delivering an effective group presentation there are
various skills which is required by me to be developed such as time management,
communication skill, networking, confidence, effective use of gesture while delivering
presentation, problem solving and many more. With the help of enhancing all the skills I will
become more capable in order to deliver presentation at various levels such as school, workplace,
collages and so on. It has also been analysed that with the help of enhancing team working skills,
I will become more capable to produce high quality products and avoid situations related to
conflicts and disputes. Apart from this, I have to improve my confidence level as I become

nervous while expressing my shares and thoughts in front of large number of people. Due to lack
of confidence I will miss various opportunities available at the workplace and colleges.
Moreover, I need to improve my body language and gestures so that I can deliver my
presentation in a proper manner and avoid any kind of improper actions in front of people. Also,
I have observed that my problem solving skill is not effective which needs to be enhanced by me
so that I can understand issues and problems faced by individuals. If there is any kind of issue
arise which affect the performance of people, I will become enough capable to solve such
problems within given time frame. By developing or improving all these skills and capabilities I
will become enough capable to produce positive and favourable results.
Action Plan
This is the section, where I need to develop an effective action plan with the help of
which I will be able to gain various opportunities at both personal as well as professional level.
For this, I need to formulate PDP with the help of which an individual will be able to accomplish
their goals and objectives by enhancing their skills, knowledge and capabilities. With the help of
this plan, I will be able to attain my long, short and medium term goals which are related with
my professional and personal objectives.
