Self-evaluation of learning is a helpful approach for a student as it develops essential
skills that the student can use for their future in professional life. It also helps in the active
learning of any subject. From the first module, I learned that older people are the worst sufferer
regarding their health, social, and working life. For this, the first thing I analyzed the self-
awareness of the community by performing a survey. At the time of the study, I realized that
they could not get proper respect anywhere. I also observed that nurses neglect those people most
of the cases because of their behavioral changes. I came across another problem while assessing
those people that they have a potential ego integrity issue. I applied the Erik Erikson’s
psychosocial theory to identify the psychological issues (Malone et al., 2016). From the different
age theories, I was able to assess the geriatric disorder associated with ego integrity. From the
review of the older people, I was able to set goals and plan for individualized care for this aged
group.
Community nurses have a significant role in disaster management. I acquired detailed
knowledge about the different components and each stage of the disaster. I evaluated myself by
forming a case study related to the problem and answer those questions. I identified that the
nurse should prioritize their action at the time of disaster management. I also encountered a
disaster along with the community nurses. From there, I evaluated myself by handling situations
and compared them with each stage of disaster management. In the public health assessment,
epidemiology is a common issue. I identified the cause, symptom, and prevalence of the disease
among the group. Then I found out the social, cultural, and behavioral problems that affect the
community. By following evidence-based practice, I assessed the treatment procedure, recovery,
and diagnosis of the disease and progression of the infection (Clark, 2015). The next
consideration was school health and STDS. For enhancing school health and hygiene, I identified
an awareness program that was initiated to educate the school children. I also came across that
health education was provided to the high school students to prevent STDs and sexuality. This
was evaluated by forming questionnaires, and I able to gather detailed knowledge about it. After
studying about the LGBT community, I was able to detect their issues related to their health. I
discovered that this community was deprived of health equity (Jennings et al., 2019). Since they
lacked social standards and human rights, their health-related problems were prominent.

From that information, I performed individualized interviews that can facilitate to know
their current issues. Finally, the community assessment clearly described the techniques that
helped to define the community correctly. I studied that various procedures were followed for
this evaluation. The first technique was the needs assessment (Rabarison, Timsina & Mays,
2015). After learning this method, I noted down the key points that may help in the future.
On the other hand, other procedures are also followed in assessing society. The survey,
different Government data sources, demographics of that particular community, and focus
groups provided detailed knowledge that helped me a lot to gather additional insight from this
course. At last, I noted down all the essential vital data from this learning for future references.
