The shift from the old school printed textbooks to the electronic media can be seen in
the world. Students or teachers are surrounded with the gadgets and think of themselves as a
part of technological generation, which is true to an extent. California, in a new law passed,
declared that all the text media will be available in electronic form by the end of 2020. There
are various examples showing the compulsion for the school and colleges to change
textbooks to electronic version (Wallis, 2017).
There has been a detailed discussion of this change to the digital world from printed
media in my speech. Various examples of legally bounding laws and ordinances are included
to support the thoughts. The next part contains the importance of printed texts in the lives of a
student and the ways it helps students to be more connected with the book and its matter. A
printed collection is in itself a matter of pride and its effect on one’s life stays as an
impression. Moving forward, the speech contains a comparison on how printed media is
better than the new technology in various terms and the information is supported by various
findings and research.
FEEDBACK- The speech is well contained with thoughts and arguments based on logical
reasoning. Various points are subject to personal experiences and viewpoints. The
differentiation between the two kinds of media is well provided but, there’s a little bias for
the older generation to have a warm love and respect for the printed books.
