Evidence and Reflection
The sports coaching career has its pros and cons. To be qualified for sports job is not
difficult and as per the above mentioned strengths I have some of able qualities to be qualified.
Strength reflects the abilities or power in a person towards his work. For example, to be the
sports coach there is required lot of qualities and abilities. To setup anything or begin with
anything first the person’s strength is considered. Therefore, I am very well capable of being a
sports person as mentioned below are my strengths:
Strengths
Good Listener: I have a strong listening capacity. I mostly prefer first to listen the other and
then reply. Therefore, this strength is very useful to convince or impress other. Because at
present there are very few people who first listen. This quality has been benefited to me at large
like, at college there was a competition in which the person who is a good listener will be
selected and I was selected. I give chances to others to speak first and I prefer to listen so that I
will be able to know about their point of view and their thoughts (Jackson, Joshi, & Erhardt,
2009).
Discipline: the vital factor for every work is discipline. I am much disciplined towards my work
or games or anything. Everything requires environments which have discipline in it. Moreover,
the sports persons should have a quality of discipline as it is highly required in this filed and
therefore, I have it. it aids a lot in maintaining the workplace environment, while doing any task
or performing any project. In my college I am the in-charge of discipline and I handle things very
calmly (Kamberg, 2017).
Togetherness or teamwork: I love working in groups or as a team member. As an individual I
am enough strong and dedicated towards the teamwork. Each member needs to perform best to
achieve the desired targets and most importantly work in a team. There is only a single and

common goal to be achieved while working in a team. This skill of togetherness supported me a
lot in my college as well as school projects. I have performed in a team where I learn to
communicate with other members, build trust and show respect to every team member.
Moreover, this togetherness has connected me with lot of my colleagues and friends (Lambert, &
Wallis, 2016).
Weaknesses
It reflects to my weak points for getting job in sports industry. With number of strengths
there are also some faults or weakness in everyone. Therefore, to overcome my weaknesses first
I will identify them and then I will work on it. Therefore, the identification is as follows:
Over thinking about the results: I always believe in hard work and struggle to accomplish
goals. And I want to convey accurate results at every place where I perform. Due to this I have
putted hard efforts in my school projects which makes me tired and stressful. Therefore, until the
result comes I keep stressing myself and think too much. Also, at my workplace I work above
and beyond the requirements even my aim is to complete the project before deadline arrives.
Therefore, I take more tension of deadline and over think of results (Misener, & Darcy, 2014).
Hesitation while expressing or speaking at podium: I have fear in my mind to express my
views in front of public. I want to remove this hesitation because it is not good for my career as
well as personal life.
While debating or expressing my views I feel anxiety and de-motivated. Overall my
performances are good in college and workplace but due to this weak point I feel low. But now I
am preparing myself to be good public speaker and soon I will be (Pickton, & Wright, 2010).
The above mentioned weaknesses can be overcome with my strengths and upcoming
opportunities. There is nothing impossible and to be in sports industry is such a wonderful
opportunity. Consequently, I have taken a note of my weakness and now it is the time to work on
it. This will require a proper plan and follow-up action (Qadir, 2018).

Action Plan
Activity Time Period Objective
Business Plan Initiation 2 month I will focus on my abilities and will search
for options
Analysis of Sports Market 15 days Analyse the opportunities and job offers in
the market
Improvements 1 month First I will identify my weak point and then
will target them to improve it.
Advertisement of abilities 1 month I will advertise my abilities and strengths for
job offers in sports industry
The great opportunities in the sports industry and environment make me more excite for
the job. Every job opportunities are in search of compatible and eligible sports person who have
skills to manage things and people. There are rapid changes in the culture of sports and which
leads to increase of career options. Therefore, I am raising my standards and performance to fit
in the job requirements. I am good at playing Badminton and Volley Ball therefore, I practice
more to be sporty one and I have selected for the state level competition of volley ball. Though
this opportunity I will get an option to interact with other sports person and volunteers (Schmidt,
Torgler, & Jung, 2017).
Moreover, in my college programs I am participating as event organizer to learn the
duties as an organizer. This made me learn of so many things that a single mistake can lead to a
big issue therefore, proper feedback and check-up is required (van Bakel, & Salzbrenner, 2019).

Another is that I attend many conference and seminars to address my weak point and
reduce my hesitation. The seminars build more confidence and increase much knowledge about
sports. In one of the seminar I asked 2-3 questions and due to that I feel a little bit confident. I
am opening myself in front of others like in my group conversations I speak a lot and do debates
to comfort myself for future (Venter, 2016).
Conclusion
The above report can be summarized that your ability is in yourself only the thing is that
you need to identify. To find out my actual interest and abilities I thought a lot and at last I got to
know that I will move towards the sports. At present I am pursuing my Masters degree and after
that I will work in sports industry. I have many skills to be a sports coach, fitness manager, a
guide or in relation to these things. But at same time I am weak at expressing my views and due
to this I feel backward. Therefore, I started many things to improve my weaknesses and grasp the
opportunities. The growth of sports is increasing widely and thus, the scope to. Although, there
are some risk and challenges in every field which I need to overcome. I want to reach at top but
this will consume a lot of time as success needs time and a lot of patience. Furthermore, new
techniques and advancements backwards the internal capabilities of a person and this is a big
threat of now.
