Week 2 –Self Reflective Writing
1. What progress and growth have you made this week?
After two weeks of this course, I have gained significant knowledge and progress in the
field of bachelor of administration. I have acquired knowledge about different aspects of
business and its administration in the contemporary business environment. I have
developed a better understanding of diversified managerial theories and approaches
applied in administrating business.
2. What has your achieved for yourself?
I have achieved for myself increased and exemplified the level of knowledge and
information regarding the theories and practices in the course of business
administration. It has provided me with opportunities to reflect this knowledge and
understanding in managing my daily work chores and activities.
3. How did you engage with your values, listening, speaking, reading and/or
writing this week?
The values of listening, speaking, reading and writing have been exercised and kept in
my mind to accomplish the learning and requirements of the course Business
Administration. I have tried to execute the learning with my values to increase my goal
attainment and objective. I observed an issue of fear of public speaking which disturbed
my learning and communication practices. The values of effective listening and
speaking have aided to increase my values.
4. What were this week’s most powerful learning experiences?
This week’s most powerful learning was when I worked in a team to accomplish
diversified objectives and goals through a single oriented group activity. The group
activity enabled six different people coming from different backgrounds to achieve
different objectives through one single activity. The activity educated me about the
concepts of teamwork and participation.

5. Why are they important to you?
These learning are essential to me as they have enabled me to learn back my values of
respecting, listening and speaking with others in an effective manner to accomplish
different aims and objectives. The learning informed me about the importance of
teamwork and building in accordance with my values.
6. What has changed for you:
 Perceptions changed or reinforced.
Yes, perceptions have changed and altered in my professional areas. The channels of
communication have been clearly sorted and established as per the professional
systems and lines.
 Deeper learning
Chapter 2 for this week was very effective in enhancing my knowledge and
understanding about the direct and indirect forms of professional communication in
business and its administration.
 New quandaries and puzzles
Next, I will try to focus on increasing my contribution to the team building areas and
efforts.
7. List three outstanding things you did this week and briefly explain.
 I was enabled to communicate in clear and simplified manners with my
team members. It increased my understanding of others and helped me to interact in a
practical way.
 I engaged in a conversation with my friend about her failed
relationship. I tried to explain to her everything happens for a reason and that she will
come back of track with things getting settled in her life.
 The last thing I appreciate is helping a fellow student with his
assignments and submissions as he was not in town for a month and was experiencing
a hard time with his mother hospitalised.

8. List 3 things you appreciate about yourself and briefly explain
 Honesty and dedication towards my work because I try hard for things and put in my
100% efforts to accomplish the objectives by setting a higher goal each time for next
attempt.
 Trying challenging and dynamic work to increase my knowledge base and inculcate
diversified knowledge in my work attributes and approaches.
 Helping others and creating a coordinated working environment is another I appreciate
about myself. I always try to help others in overcoming their barriers and hindrances for
further development. I try to create a light and coordinated environment in my
surroundings for enabling others to work in a cohesive and integrated manner for goal
achievement.
9. List 3 things that I am grateful for and briefly explain why.
 I am grateful for a loving and caring family that is always there for me to help me with
my issues and problems.
 I am grateful I have found new friends in the USA who are trying their best to let me fit in
the different culture and environment.
 I am also grateful for my community members and society elders guiding and helping
me to overcome my challenges and issues in a collaborative and effective manner.
10. What areas will you continue to develop and how?
I want to develop my listening abilities which I noticed are not very strong. I always try to
prove my point and let others know my view (which is not bad). But I require developing
effective listening skills in order to listen to others and create an understanding of their
opinions and thoughts.
11. Will you revise your priorities as a result of something you learned or
experienced? How?

No, I will not revise my priorities. I have very clear about my priorities and the things that
matter to me since the start. I will although try to make it clear for my peers about my
personal thoughts and views on the matters were we deflect. I will try to communicate
with them in an effective manner to let them understand my own experiences and
resolve our issues in a dignified and harmonious way.
12. Set one goal based on what you have written to moveyourself forward.
I will set a goal of integrating my colleagues and fellow students. I will undertake
personal efforts and try to mix in with them to accomplish the team objectives and
priorities. I will also try to communicate with them in order to develop a better
understating of the team and increasing the interpersonal communication.
