Comparison of the Sermon on the mountain (Mathew 5-7) with Qur’an provided on Canvas
In the Mathew gospel that is from the stated chapters, evidently revealed the sermon which as
conducted by the Jesus Christ. In comparison to the message which is the Quran that revealed the
message of the Moses after Israel have sin have some distinct relationship and difference. The
message which was delivered on the sermon on the mountain talks about God and the
implication it has to some of the individuals who seek it. However, based on the Quran, it merely
speaks about the people and their relation to God (Reynolds & Gabriel.p.678). Most of the Muslims
believed that the message from God was once revealed to Prophet Muhammad through the angel
Gabriel. Therefore, the documents reveal the same fight in the kingdom of God. The same fight
which was being shown by the Muslim (Reynolds & Gabriel.p.78)
The message of the kingdom of the God is not something which was strange to the listeners in
the sermon on the mountain since it was something which they keep on hearing from the old
prophets who speaks about it, therefore by Jesus gathering his disciple on the mountain was a
symbol of the new hope that people would be fulfilled in their heart for their eternal life. The
verses of the Mathew portrayed the kind of constant attacked between the church leaders and
Jesus Christ. Therefore Jesus uses some of the allusion and humour which was literally knowns
to be parables. He inserts some of the parodic nature of the kingdom of God. Some of the
messages which he delivered on the mountain were collectively known as the beatitude. Thus it
was important to a common individual in the attendance to understand the importance of
believing from their heart so that they can discern the true nature of the kingdom of God.
However in the comparison to the Quran basically on the caravan talks about the purity, how
individual should ignore some of the false teachings which swayed them away (Puskas, Charles &

mountain and the Quran is the message of the kingdom of the lord which is the Kingdom of God.
Similarly, in the Mathew 5, it depicts how the Jesus Christ show the multitude of the people who
follow him, then he climbed the mountain and told them to sit down, then he highlighted of the
key concepts of the kingdom of the God. Some of His teaching on the sermon on the mountain is
characterized by the attitude, conduct and the influence of those who wished to belong to the
kingdom of God. However, the Quran section discusses the Sura and the cow which illustrate
how Moses fought for the purity of the people of the Israelites. It also depicts how Moses
appeared in the late to meet the ancient Israelites who turned their heart away from God and
started worshipping the cult in the mountain Sinai. With reference to Quran, it is possible clearly
distinguish that the image of the surah and the cow depicts how the Israelites sin against Allah
thus they instead worship the cult which they were able to see as opposed to mosses’ God. Here
the Quran also portrayed the character of the individual which is constituted with anger and
impatient. In contrast, it quite clear that both contexts are in the verge to depicts the attitudes of
the common human being and sates of their impatient as well as their literal judgment over the
situation in the most contemporary general outlooks (Reynolds & Gabriel.p.93).
Similarities
1. The law
In the sermon and the mountain, Jesus Christ used his time to talk about the law of the Moses
which he stresses that, it should be applied equally regardless the states of the individuals
(Weinreich & Spencer .p.93). This was so evident when he said, that let non his disciples as well as
the teacher of the law have in mind that His intention is to break the existing law but think

However based on the Quran, it also preached about the equality of the law, which they give a lot of the
stress that in the application of the equality of the law there is saving of the life. Jesus portrayed the
kind of the fight to maintain possession in the kingdom of the lord which is the same to Quran.
2. Life
In the teaching of the Jesus on the sermon on the mountain, he explained to his listeners on
hearing that there is life after death, this one is more profound in the teaching of the Quran which
also stated that there is life after death. Therefore both of the teachings deduce that each
individual should good to his or her fellow colleagues so that they can enjoy after death because
they will not go forever if they die (Bennett & Matthew.p.34).
3. Both of them speaks about the kingdom of God
The main work of the jess Christ on earth was the teaching about the kingdom of the lord and the
repentance nature of the individuals. However due tribulation and rejection which he was
receiving from the different individual made him use some of the parables which some of the
trouble makers can easily understand what it meant to believe in the word of the God. However,
the Quran also stipulated the need to preserved and dedicate ones time in serving God. They
strongly believed that it is only through Allah where their problems can be solved, thus they
dedicate themselves in the Mecca to preach about the reality of the kingdom of the Allah (Iqbal &
Rashid.p.89).
Contrasting idea about the sermon and Quran
1. Disciples

them the nature of the kingdom. However, the Quran stated the law of the law was sent to
Prophet Muhammad through Angel Gabriel. After the death of the Jesus Christ, majority of the
disciples were subjected to torture and humiliation thus resulted into conflict.
2. The presences of the Jesus
In the sermon on the mountain was delivered by the Jesus Christ who is the son of the God but
this was contrary to in the content of the Quran since they believed in the prophets of God who is
An Gabriel. Many Muslims individuals does not recognized Jesus thus results into conflicts
which result into war.
3. In the resurrection
In the sermon on the mountain the content which was stressed by the Jesus Christ was his
resurrection, the life after the death thus he concluded by telling them through their faith they
will received the eternal life. This is quite contrary to the quean since they both believe on the
life after death but does not significantly show the coming of the Messiah.
4 Violence
On the sermorn on the mountain Jesus predicted feelings of the difference on the resurrection of
the messiah, which will bring conflict between the Muslims and the Christians, still on the
content of the sermon on the mountain, Jesus’ disciples had conflicts based on who was greater
amongst them if Jesus gone (Matthew 5:23-24). However, based on the Quran, it was also evident
that violence was witness the time when Moses found Israelites with divided faith thus made him
to be annoyed on the mount Sinai where he decided to break the law
