Dear Stefany,
I thank you for posting your valuable thought to me. I really appreciate the way you
described your understanding regarding the concept of servant leadership. Furthermore, you
successfully demonstrated your understanding with the help of the quotation taken from The
Bible. However, I would like to add some clarification relating to your understanding and share
some of my personal thought with you.
The servant leadership is the only one among the diverse styles of leadership that finds
the leader in the bottom line of the hierarchy alongside with the followers. This concept of this
type of leadership demonstrates that the followers can only learn if they receive demonstration
how to do it. The best way to make them understand is to perform the task alongside with them
hand in hand. Moreover, this type of leadership also looks after the well being of the followers.
Unlike other styles, the well-being of the followers is the primary concern of the leader. It helps
in gaining loyalty and motivates the followers to perform better in the workplace. The employee
satisfaction is maximum in this type (Northouse, 2015).
Relating it with The Bible’s quotation that states one must expect only as much amount
of task from the other that s/he can deliver themselves. In your part of writing, you considered
the helping aspect of the concepts which is no doubt accurate. However, you failed in
approaching the other aspect of it that is expectation. It means that the leader should do the same
amount for the employees and address the difficulties of the employees before expecting from
them. The individual needs required to be fulfilled in order to motivate them to perform their
tasks and provide maximum potential in the workplace. This is the key to success in the
viewpoint of this style of leadership. Change is only possible when through commitment of the

followers. The commitment can only be accessed if the justice and optimism is maintained in the
workplace (Kool, & van Dierendonck, 2012).
