AI Summary
This report, prepared for a CNT 4603 project at the University of Central Florida, provides an executive summary analyzing the potential benefits of server virtualization. It examines consolidation ratios, cost savings, and efficiency gains, while also acknowledging potential drawbacks related to management, performance, and resource consumption. The report highlights how server virtualization can reduce hardware costs, improve server provisioning, enhance disaster recovery, and increase staff productivity. It also discusses the challenges of virtual environments, including the need for specialized expertise and the impact on performance due to the introduction of extra software layers. The study references several sources to substantiate its conclusions and emphasizes that, like any other innovation, virtualization has its pros and cons. However, it concludes that virtualization has the potential to revolutionize IT management.

1POSSIBLE BENEFITS OF VIRTUALIZATION OF SERVER
Executive summary
In the following report consolidation ratios and potential benefits retrieved through server
virtualization are analyzed. Then distinct disadvantages that are needed by organizations to
understanding various outcomes, as ignored, are demonstrated. It is seen that any ideal virtual server
consolidation ration is elusive. Seeking the best virtual server consolidation ratio is complicated and
more extensive. Here, it is highlighted that virtualization servers never necessarily simplifies the
process. In earlier days, consolidation ratio aimed to stuff various virtual machines over servers as it
can hold multiple reasoned IT, managers. IT costs can be reduced by having server consolidation
and virtualization. Over-provisioning can be eliminated, and server utilization can be raised. The
limit of environmental effect on IT can be consolidated through server hardware having VMware’s
virtualization platform and VMware vSphere with Operations Management. The study has proven
that server virtualization is a revolutionary tool for presenting abilities and IT management. This was
never possible under physical infrastructure. Here, at economic case, advantages of server
virtualisation have been focused over cost savings. This is because it was allowing various
applications that are to be installed over a single physical server. Further, the report analyses how
server virtualization has been bringing benefits like positive transformations. This includes reduction
of hardware costs, developed server provisioning and deployments with better recovery solutions of
disasters, effective economic and efficient use of energy. Besides, the staff productivity also gets
increased. However, the research reminds that it has been a daunting activity to move to virtual
infrastructure, in spite of any proper expertise that has been possible. However, the study never
overlooked that there are also different drawbacks that are needed to be understood as the potentials
are ignored. The first disadvantage is from management. Here, virtual environments have required
installations that have been creating examples over virtual machines, saved, configured and
monitored. Moreover, there are products, supplying solutions, where they are the highest

investments in virtualization sector. Besides, the study demonstrates that there are difficulties to
access USM devices, particular cards and many more. Then there are drawbacks regarding
performance where they have been no consolidated processes for calculating the return of virtualized
scenarios. For compensating, an extra layer of software is suggested to be introduced. This must be
in between the hardware and operating system along with hypervisor and VMM. This has been
generating more substantial process expenses without any virtualization. This is vital to focus that
there no one has known how many virtual machines are running over a single processor. This is
without any loss of service quality. Here, higher RAM consumptions are there as every virtual
machine occupies a distinct sector of the similar. Lastly, there is a massive usage of disk spaces, as it
has been taking every file for every operating system to get installed over a virtual machine. In this
way, the study would prove, like any other innovation, virtualization has not been without its pros
and cons. This is because it ends up in resolving and facilitating various operations. However, the
study evaluated every aspect that is included in the virtualization for avoiding crises.
