Chapter 1: Introduction
Waste management has been an important part in the food industries. Food industry has
been facing a lot of problems related to cleanliness and wastage of food. A huge amount of food
are wasted due to several factors including extra food and rotten food. Therefore, food waste
management has been an option to maintain a keen approach in the reducing wastages of food.
The use of waste management system in the food industry have been creating revolution
minimizing food waste (Wild, 2017). Therefore, this project has focused on stock management
of Service Food Ltd. There has been problem identified in the inventory system of the
organization. This report has been focused on improvement of inventory control system for
reducing stock management related problem (Muller, 2019). The problems in the stock
management has been discussed in the research. Data has been collected from both primary and
secondary method of collection.
Inventory management has been an act of tracking stocked goods and items available in
the organization. The use of different inventory system has been depended on the stock
availability in the system. A poor inventory system can led to waste of goods and decrease in
sales of the company. Therefore, for reducing this issue in the company a proper planning has
been done in order to maintaining proper inventory control system (Gallino, Moreno &
Stamatopoulos, 2016). There have been both quantitative and qualitative method used in the
research. The literature review has been done using qualitative method. Various existing
literatures have been reviewed in the research.

The aim of the research has been focused on improving inventory control system of organization
or reducing stock management problem. This research has also focused on identifying problem

related to stock management. The primary problem highlighted in the research has been the stock
management. There are several cases in which stock is more than required quantity and
sometimes short than the required quantity. This issue has been arising due to poor inventory
management system in the company.
Following are the objectives of the research:
ï‚· To identify problem related to stock management
ï‚· To analyze inventory control system and its effect on stock management
ï‚· To recommend strategies for reducing stock management problems through inventory
control system
Following are the research questions:
ï‚· What are the problems in stock management?
ï‚· What is the effect of inventory system on stock management?
ï‚· How issues in stock management can be reduced by inventory control system?
Data Collection and Analysis
Data collection has been an important part of the research. Data has been collected using both
primary and secondary method of data collection method. Primary data collection method
include conducting online survey using Google forms. Secondary data collection method include
online journals, books and articles. Interview has been done with three managers of Service
Foods Ltd. In primary data collection method, 8 close ended survey questions have been added in the
survey questionnaire. Google forms has been used for creating the survey questionnaire and uploaded
over the official website of Service Foods Ltd. This has helped in collecting primary data for the
research. Three managers of the Service Foods Ltd. have been interviewed and three open ended

questions have been asked to them. Their answers have been collected as data and information for the
research.
Quantitative data analysis
Quantitative data analysis focuses on data collection from primary data collection method.
Online survey has been conducted on 20 employees of Service Foods Ltd. There have been 8 close
ended questions been asked to them and answers have been collected as data and information for the
research. Data has been analyzed by using inferential statistics method. Regression analysis has been
dine in the collected data and information. Likert scale has been used ranging from 1 to 5. Charts and
graphs have been used to show the results and outcomes of the survey graphically.

3-5 years. 22% of the participants have been working for 7-9 years. This shows that most of the
employees have been loyal to their company and working for so many years. However, the company
need to recruit new employees in order to improve their employee strength in the company.

Therefore, most of the employees participated in the survey are from stock management department.
This shows that the company has proper sources in the stock department. However, there might be
lack of skill among those staffs that has been causing poor stock management in the company.

Analysis: According to the graph and table, 34 % of the participants have been dissatisfied with the
inventory management in the company. Along with 18% of the participants have been strongly
dissatisfied from the inventory system. This can be analyzed that 62% of the employees in the
company have been dissatisfied with the inventory management. The company need to focus on
improving their inventory management system in order to develop in the market.

transportation in supply chain management department. The transport system has not been
regular in the company due to which raw materials are not available on time. Therefore, the

inventory control system might be the solution to the poor stock management system. Cloud
computing helps in providing proper solutions to these challenges in poor stock management.
The services [provided by the cloud can be obtain at any time and place. Therefore, it provides
an automated system to manage the inventory in the company.
Regression Analysis:
In this section, two regression model has been employed for evaluating the issues in stock
management and reducing this by proper inventory management. The inventory management
system has been helping in maintaining keen approach in the development of the stock
management in the company.
