1SERVICE LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Answer 1: While aiming to provide the services of service learning it is my goal to ensure that
the student develop skill of team work. It is important to learn, however, it is also important to
develop a sense of belongingness and team cohesion. Work culture is highly demanding and
team work is the key to existence in the former. The student can be in teams where they can
utilise collaboration such as that between a mentor and an apprentice. The objective would be to
inflict a sense of team work within the student and he or she should learn the same as it would
help him or her in the corporate world.
Answer 2: While working as a volunteer it I will be able to achieve my objective by helping the
student with the help of team building exercises. The classes will be inclusive of activities
through which the student would need to submit assignments and presentations which he or she
has to deliver as a team. Furthermore, the tasks that would be assigned to the student, would need
high levels of cooperation and cohesion among other students. Suppose there is one task which is
segregated into 5 tasks. Each of the 5 tasks would be interrelated and the student would need to
know his or her role and implement it accordingly.
Answer 3: In order to ensure the success of the objective, I would have to ensure that I intervene
and check on the progress of the tasks that have been assigned. I have to motivate that particular
student and assess the impact of it on that student. I would have to assess the competencies and
the capabilities of the student and delegate effectively while taking the same into consideration.
In order to adjudge the success of the plan I would have to critically assess the task outcomes and
use qualitative measures to do the same.
