Work breakdown structure
Work breakdown structure can be defined as the statement that helps in the division of the
project under consideration in two different manageable sections. This is one of the most
efficient methods of allocating different activities to different employees in the organization
(Shirley, 2016). This tool also helps in evaluating the progress of the project by the manager
of the company. Effective and efficient management strategies can be prepared by the
manager or leader with the help of this tool.
Work breakdown structure has been prepared by management of Nursing Home for
improving the quality of services provided to customers. The whole project has been divided
into five major categories i.e. initial phase, planning and design, execution, monitoring &
control, and project closing. As one of the most important characteristics of the work
breakdown structure these five phases has also been divided into smaller manageable
sections.
Project schedule
Project schedule can be defined as schedule prepared by management that involves start date
and end date for each and every activity and sub-activity decided in the work breakdown
structure. The primary advantage of preparing the project schedule is to provide a direction
and timeline to each and every activity involved in the project. The project schedule is also
important to communicate the timeline of the project to each and every project team member
and external stakeholders (Heagney, 2016). This is a time management tool that helps in
making sure that the project is completed within the given time.
It can be seen that the project schedule has provided a start date, end date and duration to all
the activities decided in work breakdown structure. According to the project timeline decided
in the project schedule, it is estimated that all the activities will be completed within 30 days
of initiation.
Network diagram
A network diagram can be defined as the graphical presentation of each and every activity to
be performed in the project. Network diagram also provides a sequence in which all the
activities will be performed. There are certain project activities that cannot be initiated before
