ISSUES OF GLOBAL HEALTH: SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASE
It has been seen that the sexually transmitted diseases have been affecting the global
population health in a drastic way. On this context it has been seen that approximately 376
million people are affected with the sexually transmitted infections such as the Chlamydia,
gonorrhea, syphilis and trichomoniasis (Who.int, 2020). Hence, it can be stated that this is one of
the most prominent issue in the context of global health. Moreover, the process of nursing is very
much important in developing the healthy lifestyle of these people. The community nurses can
develop education for controlling or preventing the issue from affecting the large population. On
the other hand the process of the health care delivery the community nurses should consider the
evidence based practice and the patient centered care providence with highest priority. The
aspect of the education providence through the awareness program and health promotion should
be conducted by the nurses in order to improve the health outcomes of people affected with these
kinds of diseases. It has been prevalently seen that the LGBT community and the people from
the under privileged community are mostly affected with these diseases. Hence, the factor of the
health promotion and educating these people as they cannot access proper health literacy and
health care should be prioritized for the improvement of the situation (Grimes, 2018). Thus, it
can be concluded that the improvement of the situation can be achieved by providing the proper
health literacy regarding the causes and effects of the sexually transmitted disease or infections.
