INTRODUCTION

etc. The following report is precisely based on one such research paper termed 'Under reporting of

The care homes provide facilities such as washing, eating, dressing even medications. But as the
time has evolved there are various things that are not pleasant and have started taking place in the
environment of the world, inconsiderate of who are the people the harm is being caused and what
might the consequences be. One of such issue is the abuse in care homes that have started taking
place and really causing troubles to many individuals living their. The care homes are not the safest
to be in this world today. Despite providing support to the people in their lives they are also causing
traumas in their lives and as a result the people are getting dependent on their medications on
regular basis. There are different types of abuses that can take place in the care homes namely
Physical abuse, Emotional abuse, Financial abuse, Sexual abuse, and Neglect.

But out of the above mentioned abuses the most common abuse which has been observed
most of the times, is the Emotional and physical abuse that is done towards the people living in care
homes. People are targetted mentally and physically both. Various topics related to the past conflicts
in the families, lack of support and other are discussed which cause trauma and bad mental state of
the people. All these problems have now started to occur frequently and is making the world an evil
place to live in. These abuse should be looked over in the care homes to avoid such illness in the old
age people and create a pleasant environment (Buse, Martin and Nettleton, 2018). There are also
various practices that social and health acre practitioners can consider doing. These are namely:
 Private practices- these practices can be done with the people in person to make them feel
secure in the care homes.
 Group practices- these practices will provide a sense of belonging to the place they are
living in.
 Hospital based practices- With regular check-up the mental state of the people will be
checked and therefore, any kind of problem will be treated.
These are the responsibilities of the social and health care practitioners, and they should
abide by them. By looking over these issues properly and taking care of the people and treating
them with dignity, the world can be turned into a better place for living.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it has been concluded that care homes abuses is becoming one of the
major problem in the world. There are different kinds of abuses that done to the people living there.
This report discusses the important findings of this issue of abuses, an approach that is used by the
author to carry the research, implications of the approach used, and lastly the report also states how
the research can be used in context to the social and health care practice.
