INTRODUCTION
Academic literacy skills are defined as the ways through which an individual can become
efficient in various skills such as reading, searching relevant sources, academic writing that help
to complete academic work on time. This report covers various challenges, ways to acquire,
applications of academic skills to study and further development strategies are mentioned in this
report.
TASK
Challenges faced in academic skills
In the process self-evaluation, I have analysed that there are some specific skills in which I am
lacking and that impact on my overall performance. In order to complete my course, I realised
that I am facing problem in reflecting my learning, experiences and thoughts to others. Other
than this, I have also facing difficulties in reading as well as understanding academic vocabulary
that impact on my overall working efficiency and effectiveness (Cottrell, 2017). There are
various projects are assigned by my tutor that must be finished on defined deadline but it
becomes challenge for me to complete specific assignments on time. During these projects,
expert knowledge and understanding but as per my weaknesses I am not able to resolve
challenges and finish project on defined deadline. Righting skills is very import skills I have
faced the issue of starting sentences. All these challenges impact my overall performance and
efficiency.
Learned academic skills
Academic skills play important role in personal as well as professional development. I have
realised that there are various skills that are learned by me such as time-management,
communication writing skills, critical thinking, problem-solving, reflective skills and others
management skills that helped me to perform my operations in efficient manner de Lourdes
(Viloria, 2017). Through improving these skills, I have completed my academic work with
greater efficiency on defined time duration. I have learned how to organise an essay, academic
style as well as reading skills that plays important role in developing personal and professional
development.

Application of learned academic skills into social and health care
As per the above discussion, it is analysed that there are various skills that help me to develop
my career in the field of health and social care. With the help of problem solving skill, I can
handle all problems and issues of patients in proper way (Loo, and Sairattanain, 2021). It enables
me to identify problems and take proper actions for them. In the field of social care, it is very
import to work in responsible and disciplined manner that enhances my abilities in making career
in health and social care.
Further development and strategies
There are various development strategies that are adopted for developing personal and
professional skills. I have concentrated on identifying an argument in a sources, and managing
time in completing work on time with efficiency. I have also synthesising sources also used to
gain better knowledge and understanding that help to perform professional work in proper way.
CONCLUSION
From the above discussion, it has been concluded that academic skills such as reading, writing
and other helps an individual to perform their personal and professional goals and objectives in
best possible manner.
