Sir/Madam,
Under instruction from and on behalf of our client, Mr. Frank Fairgate, having its resident at 301
Main St. N, Brampton, ON L5Y 1N4, Tel: (905) 451-7011, we address you as under:
It is hereby to inform you that our client traveled by his family and his son’s therapy dog, namely Maisie,
a 4 years old Staffordshire Terrier on Air Canada Flight #549 from Toronto to Orlando on 20th February
2020. A sit for Maisie had been booked by our client so that Meisie can sit inside the cabin with his son
during the air travel. Despite, prior to taking off he was informed that as the flight was overbooked, thus
Maisie would have to travel on the cargo for more than three hours. Our client agreed to that proposal
when he ensured by the cabin crew that animals regularly traveled in the cargo hold. Unfortunately, Flight
#549 was delayed due to some issues and after arrival, travelers were required to stay inside the plane due
to backlogs for ninety minutes. After deplaning our client had been informed that Meisie would be
retrieved after unloading the luggage. Almost one and a half hours the carrier of Meisie brought to him

and when he opened it observed that Meisie died. Meisie spends more than 7 hours inside the cargo
without food and water. As per the report given by a veterinarian, it has been discovered that extreme
temperature, sound, and insufficient pressurization were responsible for the death of Maisie.
Our client was very angry with the service of Air Canada and simultaneously heartbroken for the death of
his lovable dog. He understood that the emptiness of Meisie cannot be replaced by money but as he
suffered major financial loss due to the negligent behavior of Air Canada, thus he has reached out to the
representatives of Air Canada. However, he has returned from there with empty hands and their
apologies.
After getting no positive response from your end, my client contacted me and told me that he is seeking to
recover his compensation and does not want to go to court for the same because litigation is a long
procedure. On the other hand, he also needs to purchase another therapy dog for him as soon as possible.
As therapy dogs are extremely costly, thus he cannot buy it unless receives the damages. Mr. Frank
Fairgate did not inform the media till now but if he cannot recover his damages from Air Canada then
definitely inform the media.
Therefore, it is my sincere request to you on behalf of my client to have a discussion with him regarding
the same. You can provide your answer in writing. The reply must include whether the damage claim will
be accepted or denied by your organization along with proper reasons. For the purpose of settling the
dispute, the breakup of a damage claim is being enclosed with this letter:
