According to the outcome of the smarter measure tool, one of the strengths that I find
most useful for this course involves the technical competency strength. This strength involves
two abilities that were measured and the average obtained for the final score. The abilities
include computer competency and internet competency. From the assessment, I obtained a score
of eighty per cent (80%) and hundred per cent (100%) respectively, which came to an average
score of ninety per cent (90%). Based on this outcome, this was one area of strength that I scored
the highest. I find the strength quite helpful in my learning process based on the fact that
computer knowledge is an important aspect in learning of time. Learning involves the use of
computer in the form of laptops and PCs (personal computers) which when connected to the
internet help learners in their research (Zorba, 2011). The use of computer and internet has
become tools that aid students in their learning process. I intend to use this strength to do
research after classwork, do my assignments that need the use of the internet and learn more,
beyond the teacher in class. The ability to use computer and internet is highly supportive in
learning. I will use the competency to increase knowledge both educative and general so that I
pass my exams and prepare for the job in future. Currently the job market requires students to be
computer skilled as every employer company seems to embrace computer technology (Shuster,
& Pearl, 2011). I will use my competency to prepare fir exams, prepare notes, and practice more
for my future job which will involve using the computer.
At the same time, one skill that I find necessary in my learning process includes the
reading rate and recall under the academic skills that I am developing. Based on the competitive
aspect of life nowadays, this skill is highly important for learners as it helps them remember and
practice what they learn later in life (Son, & Morrison, 2010). According to the assessment test, I

received a score of ninety per cent (90%) and I intend to have it improved. As a student, I have to
be able to read fast and retain what I learn in preparation for my test and for future reference. The
mind acts as a good store of information and the ability to retain information is quite useful later
during exams (Welsh, Nix, Blair, Bierman, & Nelson, 2010). I also have to remember what I
learn during exams and for my future job and practice. The resources that are useful for me
include both human and material ones. Human resources include my teachers and my fellow
students who know more than me. They can help me recall what I learn in class during group
discussions. Teachers will advise me on what to do to keep myself updated about on new ideas.
The computer and writing notebooks include materials that I will use to sharpen my skill. I will
do online tests together with those that the teachers give me to test my skill on what I can recall.
I will use them as reference materials and to remind myself what I cannot recall.
