EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Shoushi Ventures is a small business started by Nur Amirah Azmi and based in
Tapah, Perak, with delivery services to Temoh, Bidor, and Kampar. Aleesa, her younger
sister, and Afzan, her younger brother, assist her in running the business. Sushi and kimbap
are two forms of Japanese food produced by this business. They chose this product since no
one sells it in their neighbourhood, and people must travel to the city to taste Japanese food.
As a result, they decided to manufacture homemade sushi and kimbap and sell it in their
neighbourhood, and their company grew to include other places as well, as many people,
particularly young people, enjoy Japanese cuisine. Shoushi Ventures, with the motto "It's
Your Destiny To Eat Our Sushi," began their business during the beginnings of the Covid-19
outbreak to supplement their income. Furthermore, all economic sectors were closed at the
time, and consumers opted to purchase goods and services online because it was more
convenient and required less energy. Because Amira has no business experience, she will
need to learn a lot about business and her products. Her business, on the other hand, is highly
welcomed by the public, and she has a large number of devoted customers as a result of her
perseverance. Sushi is a popular Japanese dish that has become a favourite of many people,
particularly students and young people. It's more intriguing and perfect for every occasion
with different toppings and sizes. Despite the fact that making them involves a number of
steps, the cuisine is considered simple to create because the ingredients are readily available.
It is really beneficial to their business. Even though it is Japanese cuisine, Amira always
ensures that it is compatible with Malaysian fusion taste in order to satisfy her consumers.
Because of that, she got many positive feedback for her business.

1.1.4 BUSINESS, MARKETING, OPERATIONAL STRATEGY
1) Advertise on Instagram
They utilise Instagram to keep their followers up to date on promotions and special offers.
Instagram advertisements are one of the most effective ways to target a specific demographic.
A firm can target demographics such as age, location, interests, internet behaviours, and more
with their advertising. Instagram advertising is simple to set up and reasonably inexpensive.
It's an excellent approach for a company to reach out to a large number of potential clients in
a short period of time. The social media world evolves at a faster rate than any other online
environment. It's not simple to keep up with it all.
2) Create creative video
They chose video as one of the most successful ways to spread the news about their
company. A video depicting the process of eating sushi is shown. People will be aware of
their business's existence thanks to the video. People who see the video will get a craving for
sushi and want to try it. Video marketing is the use of videos to advertise a company's
products and services, reach a large audience, and increase social media engagement. It's also
a low-cost approach to connect with customers and remain ahead of the competition. This
strategy does not necessitate a large financial investment, but it does necessitate extra effort
in the execution of the eating film.

1.2.2 EXPERIENCE/HISTORY
Amira, the founder of Shoushi Ventures, believes that the finest experience she
has had is learning a lot of new things about business, such as marketing and advertising.
She had no desire to start a business prior to the pandemic. When the pandemic Covid-19
broke out, the government ordered that all economic sectors be shut down for the sake of
the country. As a result, Amira had no choice but to start a business in order to make
money. She never imagined that her business would be so well appreciated and that she
would be able to make a profit of up to RM2000 every month. She chose Japanese food
as their product because she enjoys eating it, but she has to go to a large city to do it, such
as Kampar or Ipoh, because no store sells it near her home. As a result, she made the
decision to do homemade Japanese food at home and sell it. Because of that, she met a lot
of new people who shared her passion for sushi. Although some people dislike sushi, they
have given her great reviews after tasting her sushi. There are also some people who keep
repeating order her products and that’s make her happy and confident to continue the
business.
1.2.3 CHALLENGES FACED IN CONDUCTING BUSINESS
Amira's biggest obstacle is that she must do all tasks from beginning to end. She
is the one who must learn to make the sushi, must get up at 7 a.m. to prepare the
ingredients, must attend her customers online, must perform marketing on a daily basis,
and must also deliver if the customers are located far from their home. However, her
asistant, Aleesa and Afzan, her sister and brother, usually help her prepare the meal
because they get a lot of orders every day. Aside from that, the issue she has is that she
must establish her business with her own money during pandemic Covid-19, when
everyone is going through their own struggles. But with the support from the family and
her friends, she managed to conduct her business very well.

2.0 PERSONAL ENTREPRENEURIAL COMPETENCIES (PEC)
2.1 Opportunity seeking
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Amira was astute in her search for prospects and did
not waste any time in launching her business. She is also prudent to chose Japanese food as a
product for her business because there are currently no Japanese food businesses in their
neighbourhood. She is well aware that many people, particularly young people, enjoy sushi.
As a result, she began to learn how to prepare Japanese cuisine with a Malaysian fusion
flavour. As a result, many people enjoy her meals, and her business was well-received by the
locals, allowing him to grow into new locations.
2.2 Risk-taking
Amira dares to start a business despite having no prior experience in the field, and she
dares to step outside of her comfort zone because she has never considered doing so before.
She was eager to learn about the business in order to make money during the pandemic and
assist her family members who were unable to work at the time. She also take the risk of
using her own money to start the business, despite the fact that she is well aware that failure
in business is a significant risk, but she persists in trying until their business finances are
steady.
2.3 Persistence
Amira concentrated on her products and gave her business her all attention. She is
optimistic that her company will flourish and become well-known throughout the country.
Despite the fact that she now has a job, she continues her company as a side hustle, and she
likes profiting from something she enjoys cooking, which is homemade sushi and kimbab.
She still has a large number of loyal customers because she continues to strive for customer
satisfaction and does not give up on her goal of expanding her business.
2.4 Information seeking
When Amira decides to start a business, she conducts extensive study into her
products as well as other Japanese food businesses in order to benefit from their experiences.
She also joined a Telegram group for business suggestions and assistance that includes a lot
of Japanese food sellers. She constantly solicits consumer feedback in order to improve her
skills in making food and improve her customer service.

3.0 CONCLUSION
From this assignment, I realised that we must take calculated risks and not be
afraid to venture outside of our comfort zones in order to achieve a brighter future. If we
work hard to achieve our goals and never give up, we will be rewarded handsomely. To
be a successful entrepreneur, we must confront many problems and be strong in all
aspects of our business. Shoushi Ventures has shown me that we can make money doing
something we enjoy. Furthermore, when starting a business, we must always seek
information and insight in order for it to run properly. I'd want to express my gratitude to
Shoushi Ventures' founder for her assistance in completing my case study. Her dedication
and enthusiasm will always inspire me to be a successful person in the future.
