Project Priorities
 The priorities of the project are indicated as
follows-
o The SIB project needs to comply with the
IMDA’s requirement
o The project should have a CPI of at least 1
o Therefore, cost and the performance of the
project are two top most project priorities

Meeting Project Objectives
and Priorities
 After the execution of the project, a few of the
priorities and the objectives of the project are met.
 However, the project could not be implemented
with a CPI of 1 as the CPI turned out to be .97
 The project could not be completed within
December 26 as it is completed in January 3, 2019

Changes in the Schedule
 A lot of changes in the schedule is observed during
project progress
 At first due to over allocation of the resources, the end
date of the project moved from December 6 to
December 30.
 Apart from that, identification of a software bug
resulted in addition of three more days in the project’s
schedule pushing the completion date to January 3,
2020.

 A number of contributing events added to the
delay in the completion of the project The estimation of schedule along with over
allocation of the resources contributed to
improper estimation Solving the resource over allocation within
slack time was not possible

resulted in increase in the time required for project
completion Apart from that, the late identification of the
software bugs pushed the end date of the project to
January 3, 2020

Cost Overruns
 There is a cost overrun in consideration to the
original estimated budget of the project
o The original estimated cost of the project was
$297,000.00
o However, the completion cost of the project
turned out to be$305,600.00

 There are a number of contributors of cost overrun in
a project, which are indicated as follows-
o Appreciation of the US dollars increased equipment
cost by 6%
o Reworks in the data room rendered an additional
cost of $3000

o There was an error in the estimation of the cable required
in the project and the length of the cable required.
o This incurred an additional cost of $ 2,000
The main contributors of the cost overrun are summarized.
However, although the 1st contributor could not be
addressed, it was possible to address and manage all the
other contributors of cost increase.

Lesson Learnt
 This course and the assignment have provided me a
good learning opportunity
 I have learnt about the various processes of
managing a project
 I could gather skills necessary to plan and schedule
a project in MS project.

 I have gathered knowledge about various conflict
resolution techniques that are necessary for solving
the issues within a project team
 I have learn to work efficiently with MS Project

Suggestion for future Projects
 There are a number of problems faced in execution
of the SIB project starting from poor project planning
to improper cost estimation
 For future projects, it is recommended that the
estimation of the project and development of the
project plan should consider all the constraints in the
project
 The budget estimation for the project must be more
accurate
