Home care sector is defined as industry where services are provided to old people at the place
where they are living. Home care is also known as domiciliary care or social care. It is very
important in this sector that a better service must be provided to the individuals so that they
could feel better (Jin and Cortazzi, 2017). There are various changes which has been
occurring in this sector that must be put in focus so that it could be improved. The following
report discuss about what personal development must be implemented while changes are
occurring in the home care sector. Furthermore, the report also pays focus on what reflective
and analytical skills are important and are required in home care sector.

Home Care Services adapt to changing needs of a person. If the needs of a person are
enhancing or if they are looking for an older person the person needs to plan their future care
needs. The health care and lifestyle need of every person is different which depends upon
their stage of life, financial situation and health as well as their family support. It has been
observed that many people want to live independently as long as possible while others want
to shift into residential aged care for helping themselves with day-to-day activities. Home
support services can provide a wide range of help around home of a people. These services
include personal care such as bathing and dressing, social activities, transport, physical
exercises, nursing care, meals and food preparation (Handley, Bunn and Goodman, 2017).
The person who is working in home care is required to update themselves according to the
needs of people living in home care. It is very important that a person must improve their
practices so that they could provide better services to the people living in home care.
Professional development helps a person in managing their own learning and growth
throughout their career. Continuous learning assists an individual in providing them and
opportunity in their career and keep their skills and knowledge updated in order to ensure that
they practice legally and safely. It is very important that an individual must develop their

my integrated learning which I have experience through active reflection on my practices. I
have to reflect my both skills which includes reflection in action and reflection on action
which simply means that I reflect file doing some activity and I also so have to deal with the
situation after the event. For me reflective practice is important because it facilitates me my
personal and professional growth (Hairon and Tan, 2017). Through my reflective skills I was
able to take better care of people as I have already experienced how to take care of them. I
have also used my reflective skills to analyse the situation and handle it according to its
requirement. Reflective practices also help me in analysing what I could do better for the
