INTRODUCTION
Projects management plan have been considered an important part to have the
development of delivering which is being considered right along with having the development of
real value which is considered to be against the level of business opportunity development
(Cleden, 2017). The company have to development more of strategic goals which helps the
company in proper way of aligning projects of business strategy. The project's manger has the
overseeing planning execution of project along with development of goals. The purpose of
project initiation documents is in order to have capturing and recording of basic level of
transition along with information which is needed to be correctly defined and plan the projects in
more systematic manner.
TASK 1
1. The typical projects have the significant level of characteristic which is about the having
temporary nature along with being have defined start and defined end point. The project
has the significant level of requirement of unique set that is needed to be delivered within
the so level of boundaries. Which is one nit being as approval of the business as usual.
The project is being majorly has been identified as the cross functional one which is

2. Stakeholders are being identified as the important assets in any respective company

3. The purpose of project initiation documents is in order to have capturing and recording of
basic level of transition along with information which is needed to be correctly defined
and plan the projects in more systematic manner. The PID should be dependent on the
level of expansionism of the project mandates along with present level of states in order
to which the project is aiming and having the respective level of planning. This will
according to have level of achievements along with reason which is majorly level of
important in order to have meet up needs. PID is been considered to be comparison of

composition. In composition have encoding and storage to all documents and product in
more respective manner. The primary goals along with approval which have inclusion of
list of people who have level of participation in project developmental plan to have start
of project.
4. The feasibility study is decided to have aiming order to develop the objectivity along with
rationally being conversing the strength along with weakness in order to have
development of the purposed venture along with having the level of opportunities and
threat which is being having the presence in natural environment (Wood and et.al., 2018).
The feasibility study has the requirement of resource which needed to be carried
throughout and the simulation of prospects for development of success. There is
practicality of proposal along with having venture development of business idea to have
determination where projects are working according to number of reading or not. The
feasibility study is helping in making the reliability measures of proposed idea which is
having the endurances in regard to projects which is considered to be legally and
technicality more level of feasibility as well as economically justiciable. There are

TASK 2
Activities required to successful project completion
In project completion there are several stages of which is followed by manager. Each stage
defines different activities or practices that are undertaken. It is important to develop a plan in
effective way so that project is completed (Hietajärvi, Aaltonen and Haapasalo, 2017).
In every project the activities depend on several criteria that is nature, size, scope, type, etc.
of project. So, accordingly project manager defines activities and develop plan. Along with it, the
development and installation of IT project is complex task. Here, many things are required and
accordingly project is initiated. Similarly, in current case study to install and implement IT
infrastructure there are several activities which is defined (Phases of IT project. 2017). It is
essential to define those so that project is successfully completed. Thus, activities are specified as
below :-
Project initiation document - The PID should be dependent on the level of expansionism of the
project mandates along with present level of states in order to which the project is aiming and
having the respective level of planning. Through this, it becomes easier to proceed further. In
context of case study, PID will be built by manager. it will be based on contract that is provided
by hotel.
Setting goals and objectives- This is the foremost thing that is undertake in every project. here,

Requirement and analysis – this is the second thing in IT project where problem and need is
identified. It enables in setting of goals and objectives of project. Beside that, project manager
works closely with stakeholder define requirement of project. Moreover, what outcome will be
delivered. Also, in this activity the resources require is identified. The resources are financial,
HR, other resources as well. Therefore, in this project IT system and tools are identified. The
project manager should determine CCTV camera required, server, computer systems, TV, wires,

Estimating budget – the project manager can take this activity where overall budget is
estimated. It gives overview of how much cost is required and where expenses will be incurred.
So, on basis of budget resources are allocated. In case study the manager can prepare budget of

developed. With help of it, elements required to be included in computer system or business
solution is selected. In current project, manager will include those elements related to IT
infrastructure (Rumane, 2017).
Design – This is main activity where project manager creates design of IT infrastructure. The
design is a framework which explain that how data will flow and processing is done. Other than
this, design reflect how IT infrastructure will work and its overall monitoring and operational
process. Basically, the design shows that how components in IT system will interact with each
other along with hardware and software. The design is created in two stages that is high level and

detailed. In detailed it is described about details of each components in depth. Also, each system
function is described along with each component of IT project. Therefore, in this project
manager will should design the working of CCTV, IT system, server, etc. Moreover, manager
will need to show CCTV will work, data is recorded, booking will be done, where data is stored,
how communication network is process, etc. Therefore, entire processing of IT facilities and
services is described in this activity. Furthermore, in design it is also shown that how hardware
and software components interact with one another. Through that, it becomes easy to proceed
further in project and install IT facilities accordingly. The entire project success and outcome is
based in this activity.
Construction- It is also an activity in which project manager develop team which will do all
these tasks. Here, the plan which is developed is implemented. In that manager assign task to
team members on basis of their skills and capabilities. Also, schedule is developed by discussing
with team that who will do what task and when. Apart from it, resource allocation is done
according to task assigned to team (Edwards, Serra and Edwards, 2019). The manager also
estimate budget that is required in project. Moreover, it is a crucial activity a project
implementation begins. So, in current project resources will be allocated.
Integration and test – This activity will include testing of IT equipment that are to be installed
in hotel. The testing is done to ensure that all equipment works properly. In addition to it, testing
will help in determining the quality of IT systems that are included in project. Also, system
integration is done in to connect IT equipment with centralised server or other computer systems.
Along with it, flow of process and data is tested and results are obtained. With help of testing it
is easy to find out whether hardware and software requirements are appropriate or not. In current
project, manager can test the CCTV, telephone, TV, etc. are working properly or not.
Implementation- It is the last activity where IT facilities and systems are installed or
implemented according to the design developed. This activity consumes a lot of time as each IT
computer system and communication infrastructure is to be properly installed in hotel rooms. If
implementation is not done properly it directly impact on project budget and time. it is because
all IT facilities are to be tested and installed again (Arnott, Hurwitz and Liu, 2018). So, it
requires more time and with increase in time, cost is also increased.
Risk assessment- Here, the activity will enable project manager to identify risk related to
project. With help of it, different types of risks are identified and their degree. Also, it will allow

manager to find out impact of each risk on project. In this way, appropriate measures are taken to
control and mitigate the impact of risks. Similarly, in project of installing IT communication
infra. Manager will conduct risk assessment. This will be easy to find out risks and take proper
measures. Hence, project can be successful completed.
Monitoring – this activity is undertaken to monitor the IT communication infrastructure. By this
it is easy to control functioning of IT systems and equipment’s installed in hotel. The activity is
initiated after project completion (Larsson, Eriksson and Pesämaa, 2018). It is useful in
maintaining the quality of IT infra. Then, accordingly changes are made in it to improve
performance.
Critical path analysis – it is a technique that is used to identify project activities and its duration
of completion. Through this, it is easy to identify stages where less time is required to completed

From above CPA it is analysed that 10 days is required in installing of IT communication
infra in hotel rooms. So, this activity consumes most time within project. Besides, the least time
taken in doing risk assessment (Germain and Aubry, 2019). The manager identifies types of risk
in it and take proper measures. Each activity is interrelated to one another and project flow is
maintained.
RECOMMENDATION
There are different types of project management process that can be followed by manager in
this project. It will enable in easy completion and successful implementation of project. So,
certain recommendation that can be undertaken is as follows :-
PRINCE 2 is a project management process that can be followed. It will help in managing
project by dividing it into various stages and controlling it. Also, the project can be broken down
according to product based approach (PRINCE2 methodology. 2018). It provides flexibility in
controlling as well. Moreover, through effective control, resources are utilised in efficient way
and risks are managed and controlled to a great extent. The manager can follow 7 steps of
process that are start, initiate, direct, control project, manage product delivery and boundary and
at last closure (Biesenthal, Mahalingam and Sankaran, 2018). Through that, it will be easy for
manager to make things undertake hotel project. furthermore, the project can be completed
within budget. By this it will be easy for manager to manage activity. He or she can proceed in
step by step way. Also, stakeholder can provide some suggestions and take decision which is

and manager. The goals can be achieved in effective way.
CONCLUSION
It can be summarised that project management is practice of undertaking and completing a
work to attain goals and objectives. There are certain characteristics of project. it depends on
project type and nature. Also, stakeholders involved in project are customer, government,
supplier, etc. the PID is a document that describe foundation of project. It includes scope, goal,
budget, time, etc. of project. Also, knowledge areas are project scope, schedule, time, cost, etc.
The manager focuses on all of these. Moreover, there are many activities require to successful
complete the project. They are design, testing, risk assessment, etc. Alongside, PRINCE project
management process can be used manager.
