Adapting to Industry 4.0: A Report on the Singapore Food Industry

This report investigates the adaptation of the Singaporean food industry to Industry 4.0, aiming to understand the current situation and propose strategic recommendations. The study explores the implementation and advancement of Industry 4.0 technologies globally and specifically within Singapore's food sector. A survey of 50 food industry employees in Singapore was conducted to gather primary data, which was then analyzed using statistical methods. The report identifies key challenges, such as a lack of interest in new technologies and coordination issues, while also highlighting the need for government support and workforce development. The findings reveal the importance of addressing these barriers to enable effective adoption of Industry 4.0 components within the food industry. The report concludes with a discussion of limitations and suggestions for future research, emphasizing the potential for increased productivity and cost-effectiveness through strategic interventions.
