- Identify areas needing improvement.
- How would you implement modification for future instruction in response to feedback and
review of participant progress? /5
Management by objective or MOB is one of the best techniques deployed by a person
or an employer to assess/evaluate oneself or an employee respectively. I will be using the
same MOB method in assessing my performance as a swimming coach. Setting out the
objective of training a group of individuals with basic swimming skill set and transforming
them into a group of individuals with a competitive swimming skill set.
Administration - effectively handling activities and efficiently eliminating unnecessary
activities, meets expectations.
Knowledge of work - first-hand experience of skill sets to be imparted, Exceeds expectations.
Communication - oral (verbal/whistle) and visual (hand signaling) communication abilities,
Meets expectations.
Dependability - measure to which employees adhere to the instructions and rules set out by
the institution, Exceeds expectations.
Safety - awareness in regards to a safe working environment, accident mitigation and eye for
detailed housekeeping, meets expectations (Treffene 2010).
In regards to the above parameters, I was able to drive the group, meeting
expectations, to enter the competitive swimming possie.

There is always some scope for improvement, especially when, as a coach, you are
expected to deal with a different set of individuals on a regular basis. Hence, in my opinion, I
would like to improve my communication skills to an outstanding level, as improper
communication is the root cause of frenzy. Reducing barriers in communication, reduces
accidents and increases the overall efficiency of any given session.
To implement modifications in response to feedback and reviews a simple technique as
the following will be implemented. Plan what you will do, do what you have planned, assess
or review what you have done and lastly incorporate the feedback and reviews to plan
again; and the cycle continues until the objectives are met.
Please submit a hard copy to your trainer and upload another one onto Moodle
You will need the hard copy of the swimming template to and instruct while you are taking the
lesson, as it will be easier for you to guild you through the session.
